CSU //out of state admission chances

I have a 2.8 gpa and I got a 980 includes (reading, math and writing) my CSU index is 2948. What CSU’s can I get into? I applied to CSUEB, CSU Stanislaus, CSUNORTHRIDGE, CSU Chico, SFSU, Sonoma State, and also out of state University of Portland, University of Arizona, University of northern Arizona and University of Nevada Reno. My top choice is Chico state. Can you tell me if I can get into any of those?

Wait… As an OOS student, I don’t think your GPA qualifies you for application in CA to a CSU.

For CSU’s the minimum gpa to get in is a 2.0. But they do recommend to get higher than a 2.0.

I’m pretty sure your SAT puts you out of the running for any school…

You do not qualify as an OOS applicant for the CSU’s due to your eligibility index. This is taken directly off the website:
Nonresidents of California are required to have a minimum eligibility index of 3502 (SAT) or 842 (ACT).

I’m i live in California and my index is 2948 above the minimum which is 2900.

I do live in California and my index is 2948 above the minimum which is 2900.

Sorry for the confusion. With your EI you should be able to get into CSUEB, CSU Stanislaus and SFSU (non-impacted major). Chico State requires around a EI of 3700 and Sonoma State around 3600 so your chances are slim there. CSUN could go either way and only took local applicants last year. Not sure about the out-of-state schools sorry that I cannot help. Any chance you can retake your SAT to bump up your EI?

Omg thank you so much!!! This was really relieving! :)))) and I’m planning to do nursing so I would apply for pre nursing for each CSU so for SFSU would that be a no? And no worries

You did not specify that you planned on applying for pre-nursing. Pre-Nursing is impacted at all campuses so you have really little chance of getting into any of the CSU’s with your GPA and Test scores. You would be OK at the campuses I mentioned if you are not applying to an impacted major. I think you should consider CCC for 2 years and then transfer. If you post again, please give as much detail as possible.

I haven’t applied to SFSU should I put “undeclared”

Undeclared is not offered at all the campuses or it is also impacted. I would apply with non-impacted major such as Health Science which would help fulfill your nursing pre-req or Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology. Here is a link for the impacted majors and campuses:
