I'm going to sent out my application to transfer to UC Irvine. I'm a freshmen at Cal Poly and I'm not liking it here very much. I'm just going to send out a transfer application for the hell of it. It won't hurt anything besides my wallet (60 bucks). I'm currently an Aerospace Major at Cal Poly, but I'm still thinking about changing majors because aerospace isn't really sparking my interest anymore, but then again, I may stay with Aerospace. My question is what major should I choose at UC Irvine to apply to? Right now, I just want to get in. I'm applying for Fall Transfer. They extended the deadline to Jan 31st 2006 and UC Irvine is one of the only colleges that accept anything under 90 units. It says in the instruction for the application that "Applicants are encouraged to select an alternate major." So what major would be a good alternate choice? I know it's a long shot.

i was looking at their minmum gpa for transfer students and it says 2.0, i know UC's have much higher requirements to get accepted..what would be a decent gpa to have a chance?

my gpa is kinda low, but im working my butt off right now to bring it up. Last quarter (first quarter in college) my GPA was 3.13 with 13 units. I'm taking 20 units right now and doing all the work and studing every night.
