I have a 3.0 GPA (overall, but a 3.8 GPA in my senior year) and got a 1080 on my SAT. I plan on applying to CSUEB and CSUCI, but I have a D in Algebra 1 for my first semester for my freshman year which means I only have 2.5 years in math. I am currently a senior taking Stats/Trig to make it 3.5 years, but I am worried that my D will rescind my app. How bad are my chances?
Senior grades are not considered in your admission decision for CSU’s but you need to pass all Senior year classes with a C or higher. If you have taken a higher level of Math beyond Algebra 1 or passed the 2nd semester of Algebra 1, you have validated your Algebra1 class. You still have to report the D, but you meet the minimum Math requirements. You would not be able to apply if you do not meet the requirements and you will not be rescinded unless you do not pass your Senior classes.
