CSU Spring 2013 or UC Fall 2013

Hi guys,

I am an aspiring computer science major. Should I:

Transfer to a CSU for spring 2013? I will have enough credits by the end of this semester.

OR

Stay in community college (and perhaps get a job while at it) for an additional 1.5 years and finish off all the math, physics, and programming courses?

My total time at the community college will have add up to 3.5 years...

Take your time, you should never take a class at a four year that can be taken at CC IMO

Thanks, that’s what I thought.

Just don’t forget there’s a limit to how many units you can have

Note that admission may be more difficult for the spring than fall. SJSU posts transfer impaction results on its web site which show that transfer admission GPA thresholds were generally higher for spring 2012 than fall 2011.

Finishing off all of your lower division courses (or as many as possible which articulate to needed prerequisite courses for your major at the UC or CSU) before transfer is more desirable, since it is less expensive and maximizes the amount of schedule room for upper division courses in your four semesters or six quarters after transfer.
