CSU to CC to other University? Input greatly appreciated

Hey guys, I currently finished my second semester at CSULB for Computer Science and I got a low gpa for various reasons, some of which were my fault. I failed one class my first semester and got a 1.85 gpa and then got a 2.6 my second semester, bringing my Cumulative gpa to a 2.1. Naturally, I wasn't content with my Gpa and I plan to go to a local CC to improve it.

I was just wondering, if I do well at the CC, will I still have a good shot at getting into a school like Cal Poly Pomona? What about UCs or USC? How much will my former bad grades influence them? Thanks very much in advance :)

Bump, bump, and bump =P

Anyone at all?

hears crickets

Tunes that go “bump” in the night

All I can tell you is that UCs like to see upward grade trends. So if you suddenly start pumping out 4.0s for a few semesters, the UCs will overlook your low grades, and understand you were going through some tough times before. So you still have a shot even at the higher tier UCs, but you have to get your act together.

Thanks for the response! I do plan to get my act together :)
