CSU to UC/ Private

Hey Everyone !!! So I just completed my first year at a CSU and I want to transfer (Pre-Med Bio Major)... I dont plan on transferring till next year so I can get me pre reqs done and get my GPA higher... As of right now my GPA is 3.4 and my ec are VP of the American Medical Student Association for my University, Region 10 coordinator for Student Heath and Awareness AMSA (Manage 10 states) and In a a honors lab program called MARC U* STAR which is a research program dealing with biomedical sciences. I have paid for all my education through research grants (The MARC U* STAR Program) I want to transfer to USC,UCI,UCSD,UCLA or NYU. What are my chances? and what schools do you recommend?

Thanks :)

Transfering from a CSU to a UC is extremely difficult and the few cases that were successfull were by applicants with or close to a 4.0 GPA. UCs give strong preference to transfers from CCCs and also priority to UC to UC transfers over CSU to UC transfers. I think your chances of acceptance would be better at NYU or USC than a UC.

Thanks  ^ Also they main reason why I want to transfer (and this is the honest truth) UCLA and the others i mentioned offer research in the field of oncology which is the field I want to go into… my campus doesnt have research that really goes into the field (Just sort of touches upon it) so I think that is what would give me a fighting chance as a csu student… I just dont want to transfer because of the name … I want to transfer so I can actually get a better education in the field I want to go into and these UC and other privates are the ones I think I might have a shoot at that offer my field… o and the honors research LAB I am in also has a collaboration with UCI UCLA and USC PhD programs with 90 percent acceptance rate …but I want to go into the undergrad so i dont think it really matters… but those schools are aware of the program I am in

sorry for posting this but i need help

o kk well ACT I would put at about 30 percent… its more so to see that your gpa is on par with you ACT score (make sure schools dont just give out 4.0 like crazy) look at it as a way colleges level the playing field for those whose high schools 4.0 is easy to get vs. a harder high school whose not so easy
