CSU to UC transfer with a Psych major

Hey guys. I just wanted to ask around what are my chances of transferring from CSU to UC. I know the chances are pretty slim but I still want to give it a shot, even though its kind of early for me (currently a freshman) to probably talk about it.

So like I said, I'm a freshman right now. I'm currently attending SDSU and would like to transfer to a UC school largely because with my psychology major, I know the UC schools would give me a better undergrad education than SDSU would. I mean, the UC schools also have some of the top Psych graduate programs (which I'm aiming for) so I really want to graduate from there.

The thing is, I got into UCI and UCSB as an incoming freshman but was rejected from UCSD. I ended up staying home and attending SDSU for family reasons, unfortunately. I have a 3.78 GPA from college courses I completed during my four years at high school and came into college with 34 units (along with that GPA). By the end of my spring 2013 semester, I will have junior standings. And by fall 2013, I would be done with all my major prep + GEs at State so I'd basically be a semester ahead in my courses.

I'm hoping to maintain (or improve) my GPA. I don't feel like it's high enough to get me into UC schools as a transfer from another University. I've begun joining clubs, but honestly I work around 20hrs/wk so I don't do a lot of on campus activity so far. My future career is to be a researcher in the field of cognitive neuroscience or neuropsychology. So I'm looking for summer internships next semester + hopefully assistant positions for on campus researchers next semester. SDSU is a research university so I'm hoping to luck out on that.

I know that my major preps might not transfer over to UC system. So I was thinking of taking classes at a CC while also classes at State. The thing is, UC schools require 2-3 Calc classes for incoming psych majors. I was thinking of taking the Calc classes that transfer at a community college because I don't think the CSU ones will. I spoke to an adviser and they told me that they don't think any major prep will transfer, so I've opted to do that. I know I can just drop out of SDSU, do community and basically have a high chance of acceptance if I keep up the good grades, but I honestly would rather just attempt to transfer from CSU. And if I don't get in, then I'll stay here.

I'm just wondering though: if I take some of the required major preps (I'll basically be doing calc only b/c I already did stats at state and I will do science classes here as well), maintain or improve my GPA, keep working at my job, increase my on campus activities, do a summer internship, and be a research assistant next semester, will I have a good chance of transferring?

Despite my chances and how slim they are, I'll still give UCI and UCSD a chance. But I'd still just like to know what are my chances of getting in. I know UCSD is a far shot... I would live to go there or UCLA but they're just so hard to enter with my already low chances transferring from another public univ. Plus psychology for a UC school is competitive. So that would increase my difficulty of acceptance..

Honestly, do I have any good hope of getting into UCI, UCLA or UCSD? I don't feel like it but I'd like to know your opinions.

Bump. Please help!
