CSU to UC

Hello

I’m currently an undergrad at Cal Poly Pomona looking to transfer out to a better school. My major is Computer Information Systems. The problem lies with the fact that the school I hoped to transfer to, Cal Poly SLO, does not offer CIS like its sister school, so I’m in a pinch. The only UC I am aware of that offers CIS is UC Irvine, but to my knowledge an education at UC Irvine would be equivalent to one at Cal Poly Pomona despite CPP being much cheaper (I got into both).

I was wondering if anyone knew what classes I should be taking and if SLO offers CIS. I was thinking to major in business at SLO and minor in CS if that’s the same thing. As of right now I have fulfilled my basic Business Calculus, Statistics 120, and am currently taking ECON 201 and 202. As for GE’s I am taking GEO 101 and CIS 101.

CPP has an outstanding CIS program. Not sure why you’d want to leave.

According to this: http://www.cob.calpoly.edu/undergraduate/ SLO does offer and IS concentration in their College of Biz. Transferring will be all but impossible as they don’t take many transfers and heavily favor their ‘Local’ CCs for admission. Apply anyhow and see what happens.

Good luck.
