CSU Transfer Question

I applied for transfer for Fall 2019 for a major that isn’t impacted on at CSU San Bernardino. I am not within the southern Californian region as I live in Northern California. As long as meet their requirements should I worry too much about addmittance?

Although not major specific, this chart should help you gauge your chances: https://www2.calstate.edu/attend/counselor-resources/Documents/transfer-2018-admission-impaction-chart.pdf

@Gumbymom Do you know if CSU’s accept incoming freshman before transfers or does it even matter?

Usually Freshman hear before transfers but each CSU sets their own schedule and each year it is different. I know transfers have heard from SFSU, CSU Fullerton, CSU Dominguez Hills among others. Patience is important when it comes to the CSU’s.

@Gumbymom okay thank you. My son applied to CSUSB, CSULB, CSUN, UCI, & CPP, and a few others as a CC transfer. We’re new to this and trying to figure how how the acceptance/denial process goes.

UCI usually lets transfer applicants know their decision starting in April after the Freshman applicants in March. With CSUSB, CSUN, CPP and CSULB, the decisions could be posted anytime between now and April. CSU’s have a tendency to drag it out, so keep checking the portals and emails.

@Gumbymom awesome! Thanks again for the info!
