CSU Transfers - what's the next step in picking a school?

I'm a California CC student preparing to apply for transfer in October, and I'm trying to narrow down exactly where I want to apply to. I am looking exclusively at CSUs, not at UCs. I'm majoring in either Urban Studies with a focus on Urban Planning or in Geography, depending on which CSU I attend (I'm going to graduate school for Urban Planning, and either bachelor's program will leave me prepared for that). Currently I'm looking at San Francisco State and San Diego State for Urban Studies, and CSU Los Angeles and CSU Long Beach for Geography. This is from using the College Search tool here and browsing school websites. Now I need to know the next step. The only university that I can afford to visit is San Francisco State, because I live in San Jose and can't afford Amtrak and hotel fare for that kind of journey. I looked into guided tours at San Francisco State, but they are all on weekdays where I have work or school. I have a 3.8 transfer GPA and don't intend to start slacking off, but I stopped participating in club activities and didn't hold any offices when I did, and this year's work load is too high to resume (even if it wasn't, I wouldn't). So far as I can glean, that leaves my odds of admittance to my chosen schools as being rather good, even with a lack of extracurriculars, but I admit to being somewhat naieve of the transfer process.
