I have 3.74 unweighted GPA and have completed most calculus based physics and math classes.
I’ve applied to UCB,UCI,UCLA and SJSU,CPP,CPSLO.
I’ve notice that people are saying that CSU in general is more practical, and UC in general is more research and theory based. But which one is better for a mechanical engineering career after bachelor degree? (Mainly in terms of salary and the chance of getting hired)
Also, I am planning to get my master degree in Japan a few years after my bachelor degree.
Which school do you recommend that I should attend?
Thanks for your time.
Step one … apply,
Step two… get accepted
Step Three … choose the one that’s right for you.
Without your test scores and UC GPA, I’d only be guessing about each campus so I will suggest you apply more broadly than that. For ME, I’d add UCR, UCSC, SDSU, CSULB and perhaps Chico to your list.
See where you get in and take it from there.
Good luck
If the UC’s and CSU’s all have ABET accredited ME programs, then they will all meet your needs. As noted by @NCalRent, get accepted first than decide. I think “fit” is important so you need to figure out which meets your needs academically/financially and socially.
