<p>My goal was to transfer to a UC (UCI, UCR, UCSD or UCSB). But because of personal reasons, I was unable to attend Fall 2010--so ended up waiting another school year to transfer. But, Cal State is accepting applications for Winter/Spring 2011. In your opinion, how is the CSU school system? Would it be a better choice to attend this Spring 2011 instead of waiting for a UC until Fall 2011? My stats are okay, not great (3.2 UC gpa) I am a foreign language major.

<p>I would not let a 1/2 year delay derail a better match for you – IF that match is a UC, then wait. A half year may seem like a long wait, but five years from now it just won’t matter.</p>
<p>Assuming you can afford the UC, have a good shot of getting into the UC, and the UC has a stronger/stronger department in your major, then you should wait. If you need a cheaper CSU, if you can only get into CSUs and the CSU has a strong/stronger department in your major, then the CSU is a fine choice.</p>
<p>I vote UC, tho.</p>
