CSU

For the CSU’s you meet the minimum required Math classes by passing all of them up to the 1st semester of Honors Pre-Calc. Unfortunately, the minimum will not make you a competitive applicant for many of the impacted CSU’s and their majors. Your CSU GPA will take a hit with the D, but you have more options for grade validation with the CSU’s. You can either retake the class or take a higher level of Math such as regular calculus to validate the lower Pre-Calc. Neither an ideal situation but I would retake Honors Pre-Calc senior year and get some tutoring so you can get a passing grade. Depending upon which major you plan to study in college, Calculus may be a major requirement so having a good foundation will help.

The CSU’s are all about the numbers which translates into the eligibility index (EI).

(CSU GPA x200) + (ACT composite x10).

SJSU is the only CSU that publishes their EI for each major but it gives an idea of the numbers you need to achieve for that level of a CSU.
