***CSUF FALL 2018 DECISIONS***

Update: My son was admitted from the Waitlist today. Application status reads: Congratulations, you have been admitted with distinction to Cal Sate Fullerton! My advice is to call them, have them look at your application because that’s what I did earlier this morning. She found something wrong in his application, put me on hold and came back saying his status is now changed to “under review” although it didn’t reflect that on the portal. Then within an hour I checked his status and he was admitted! Good luck to everyone and keep us all posted

@veryworriedmama congratulations! My daughter said that every time she calls there, she gets someone rude. Do you know who you spoke with? Congrats again!

Just got off with Admissions. She said we’ll most likely find out Monday or Tuesday.

@momisanxious I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name but she was there this morning. She was this lady with a very soft voice. I know I’ve spoken to her before but I never asked for her name. Thank you too! Praying your daughter will be next!!

Any fellow STEM major transfer acceptees here?

@veryworriedmama Hello! I was just wondering how did you ask them to look at your son’s application? Were you just straight up with it and asked them?

@helpasista Yes, I always give them my sons student ID so they can pull it up first, then I ask my questions. They said to always have that number handy whenever you call

Anyone heard anything yet?

@tentaclethrpst nope! The wait is excruciating! Are you accepted anywhere else?

Just got off with admissions who said the highest chance of getting off of the waitlist was last week

@momisanxious that doesn’t make sense, the highest chance should be around SIR dates

Has anyone gotten accepted off the waitlist that is a CD major? On their website I remember seeing they make decisions starting June 1st…so I’m getting really anxious hearing how some people have already been accepted…

What major is CD.? Communication Disorders.??

@momisanxious Unfortunately no :frowning: I only applied to CSUF, UCI, and Chapman to stay local but I got rejected to both UCI and Chapman. I have early registration for SAC tomorrow so I have a backup

@YourSenpai idk…that’s what they told us yesterday and @itsmebutterfly got the same response last week. @tentaclethrpst I’m sorry! My daughter didn’t get in anywhere else either! Heartbreaking!

CD means Child Development

Once enrollment is at capacity and have not been selected from the waitlist, do you remain at waitlist status or do they send reject/deny you?

Email for waitlist sent today at 4:30

We are writing you in regards to your waitlist offer for California State University, Fullerton for the Fall 2018 term. Due to our projected enrollments for the Fall 2018 term, we are unable to accommodate additional First-Time Freshman students from our Waitlist.

So it looks like Plan B for my D.

@itsmebutterfly my daughter just got the rejection notice as well. She didn’t meet the EI for being non-local. They didn’t know that before they waitlisted her?! What a waste of time! Wishing you all the best of luck and congratulations on your graduation!

@momisanxious I think they just send that last notice to everyone who was left on the waitlist to officially close out the applications.

What program did your D apply to? My D was theatre. She submitted for the “Silver Bullet” second chance audition back in March when she was first put on the waitlist. She was selected by the theatre department for their program. However, after not hearing anything for a few weeks we finally found out that Admissions didn’t allot the department the special admin seats for the Silver Bullet students to begin with this year. That explained why no one in Admissions knew anything about it when I called. It would have let my D be admitted using the local EI and she would have been accepted.

She could have auditioned and been accepted to many out of state colleges but she wanted to stay near LA because she’s already a working actress. She also already has four years of a performing arts conservatory on her high school transcripts but CSUF doesn’t even look at those grades which are As with a couple Bs. She took 9 classes throughout HS and although she wasn’t a 4.0+ student, she’s one hard working and dedicated student for sure. One look at her transcripts would have shown that she can and does handle an enormous workload. CSUF only looked at the EI and her transcripts never got passed the processing phase so they didn’t see what she’s capable of. I don’t think the way they evaluate a student works in the best inerest of the school or the student but we are stuck with it so now we are off to Plan B.

It’s been a long, painful and stressful roller coaster but there are a lot of options moving forward and this experience doesn’t define our children. It can only make them stronger. Best wishes to you and your D. Congratulations on her graduation!!
