I have not received an acceptance from Cal State Fullerton but I did receive an email telling me to apply to their Honors program, did anyone else receive it? I find it pretty strange since I received it in December and I haven’t heard back. I don’t know if I should be happy or ready for denial.

Does anyone know what exactly “admitted with distinction” means? Is it just a title of recognition? Do you get anything out of it besides acknowledgement?

Taken from the Cal Star Fullerton website
Admission with Distinction” is awarded to a freshman or transfer student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in past academic work. For first-time freshmen with no previous college units earned, a grade point average of 3.50 on a four-point scale must be earned in the coursework considered for admission to the university. Students who have completed fewer than 60 transferable semester units of credit must meet the grade point average for first-time freshmen and must also have earned a 3.5 grade point average on all transferable college work attempted. Students who have completed 60 or more transferable semester units are eligible, if a grade point average of 3.5 is earned in all transferable college work completed.
ADMITTED with Distinction.
Major: Child and Adolescent Development
@Gumbymom Would you be able to shed light on the CSUF admission schedule? Seems like acceptances have been trickling in for a few weeks but waitlisting also started yesterday. Can we expect more acceptances?
@alhoalivin: The CSU’s have a tendency to drag things out. I would say if waitlisting has begun, then probably most acceptances have been posted. There are always some majors like Music/Theater that have an audition component which may have not been posted yet. I think a lot of the CSU’s will have a wave or 2 of admits, wait to see whom enrolls and then admit a few more so you get the trickling out effect. You might see another small wave of acceptances after all the UC decisions are posted by the end of the month.
@Gumbymom thank you for this, and all of your very helpful insight on various threads!
Have not been accepted/denied yet.
