Csuf or uc merced for prepharm

So far i got accepted to two colleges which is csuf and uc merced. Im planning to major in biochem and finish my pre pharm or pre med classes in csuf or uc merced before transferring out. Im also considering community college (mt. sac) but if i did then im worried about distractions as most of my friends will go there. Not to mention that due to budget cuts it might take three years to finish. Im waiting for irvine but my chances arent thAt great (little above medium). So which college is better to attend in my situation? Csuf or uc merced?

Is CSUF Fullerton or Fresno? I don’t know much about Fullerton but have heard many positives about Fresno. I have also heard that UC Merced is one of the “hidden gem” schools. It is smaller than Fresno. Have you visited? A visit may help you make a decision.

where are you planning on transferring to?
if transferring to another UC is the goal, then i would enroll in a community college and then transfer in the junior year. i think UCs allocate more spots for cc students as junior transfers.

I meant CSU Fullerton. Im planning to transfer to UCSF for med school. So should I finish my pre reqs for pharmacy at UC merced, CSUF or just do it at a community college so i can save some money?

???

Why transfer out? For premed or prepharm, you should stick to one school. Where would you transfer to?

Do you qualify for FA? IF so, then a UC would likely give you better aid.

I think you should go to Merced. It’s new and like a small private college instead of a big UC. Lots of personal attention. Great for those who are pre-health.

I meant transferring out as in going to a medical school like UCSF after finishing my pre-med/pre pharm

That is not transferring. :)

You don’t “transfer” to med school, grad school, etc.

For instance, you’re in high school right now. You’re not “transferring” to college at this point.

BTW…you can’t plan on going to any particular med school. Acceptances are highly competitive, especially in Calif. You’d apply to 10-20 med schools and hope for at least one acceptance.
