I got admitted to CSULA for nursing. I heard they have a really good program but nursing is really competitive. I'm debating between Sacramento State or CSULA. I heard it's almost 100% commuter school, so there is not much of a college experience. I live in San Francisco so I would be living on campus. How is campus life there?

CC I can shed a little light on this question. Well I have friends who go to CSULA. Basically everyone from my high school goes there part of the reason why I decided not to go there. Here are somethings you should know…
-It’s not located in the best area. It seems pretty ghetto/urbanized. Don’t be fooled by the los angeles address.
-Food court consists of= El Pollo Loco, Carls Jr. for the most part it’s all fast food. But I do hear some of the dorms have kitchens but a supermarket is not exactly walking distance.
-A nice little game room called the pit. It has a couple of pool tables, some arcade games, ping pong. A nice little gym.
-Oh yes nursing is competitive. It’s pretty hard to get classes at CSULA or at most CSU’s for that matter. But I’m hearing a lot of complaint’s from CSU students.
-Some buildings are pretty new so some of them look really nice!
-From what I have seen there is minimal diversity. Lots of Chinese, Korean people of oriental backgrounds. Some latino’s and hispanics.
hope this helps!

He is just about right in saying this. Chalk is used for math classes, and some professors look at you like you are dumb, especially the asian professors who…it is very ethnic-based. Clubs like Hispanic Business Society drives you away like Asian American Association or whatever. Clubs like Biochemistry Club are just a disappointment. Only ten or less joined one year. Not very competitive. Very disheartened.
