I applied to Cal State Long Beach and I have been calling the number they gave me to check my application status (562-985-2500). Usually when I call it just says "your application has been recieved" but today when I called it said "An admission decision has been made." and it gave me the number for their enrollment offices and told me to call it if I had not yet been notified? What does this mean? Did I get in or not?

Ps. I know that this is the uc transfer forum, so no trolling please

Logically, you should be receiving a letter with either a rejection or an acceptance. The number for their enrollment offices must be if it has been over a period of time and you have yet to receive the letter.

In other words, a decision has been made. This was communicated through a letter, which has not yet arrived. I would wait 3-5 business days to see if the letter arrives. If it doesn’t, or you cannot wait, then go ahead and call the enrollment office.

Edit: You can also look at it from the standpoint, why would they be giving you a number to their enrollment offices if you had not been accepted. However, it is best not to read into words and just wait for the official decision.

Last year, I didn’t receive an email or letter. I found out I was admitted over the phone. Similar with CSUN, no email or letter…and then one day I logged in to their website and saw that I was admitted.

dang! Im anxious to get an answer, i guess ill have to wait until march like it says. If you dont mind me asking what is your major/gpa/pre-reqs complete?

OK so here goes… for those looking for info on this (as least this is how it happened for me):

on about Feb 21st or so when I called the 562-area code # the message had changed to “Congratulations, you have been admitted for the Bachelor’s degree program for Electrical Engineering …blah blah”

However, there was no email whatsoever u.

Then, a couple days later I was able to log into and activate the “mycsulb” account. There it gave all my admission details and the also the opportunity to “accept” or “decline”.

Then just a couple days back (March 9th) I got the official acceptance letter in the mail, telling me they will be sending me a welcome kit etc.

@melaniedear I did not get an email. I actually first knew by signing into webportal. There, my status had been changed from “pending” (or something like that) to “Admitted”.

A couple weeks after that I got an actual letter in the mail.
