CSULB - Class of 2015

Congrats guys!

well I just called and it said “an admission decision has been made” and then it says “please call enrollment services for information”

I guess that means a NO decision for my son. Boo…Oh well, waiting for the others.

Congrats to everyone!

Man I didn’t get in. :frowning: I called the enrollment service today.
Im planning on making an appeal. To those who asked about my stats
GPA 2.8
ACT 19
SAT 1480

I know its not the best but I had so many issues during high school. Wish me luck on my appeal letter.

Good luck on the appeal! I hope it works out!

My Stats:
GPA 3.91
SAT 1830

Thanks Anna!

Oh my Stats too if people are curious and skip the first page or so:

Accepted-
3.5 GPA
30 ACT
Southern California Residency

My D has a 3.9 GPA, good EC’s, AP/Honors courses, but a low SAT score. 1360 overall, around low 900’s without the essay. Any chance she’ll get into CSULB or SDSU? She’s been accepted at Fresno State, but she doesn’t want to go there. We live in central CA.

CSU’s don’t consider ECs at all in their decisions.
However, I think her GPA could be high enough to make up for her SAT. So I think she has a decent shot at CSULB.

Her high GPA will negate her low SAT scores a bit. However, she really should make sure she meets one of the criteria I listed on page 3 to ensure that if she does get accepted, she won’t have to take remedial math and English.

Thanks for both of the responses. Her ACT scores are high enough so she will not have to take remedial English or math. Good luck to both to everyone and I’ll post here when she gets an admission decision from the Beach and San Diego.

Did anyone accepted get the Welcome Kit/Acceptance Letter thing yet in the mail?

my son got in via the phone! Yay!

@leasmom- Did she send both her ACT and SAT scores then? I’m assuming that means her ACT scores are higher than her SAT scores. I’m sure she’ll be fine then. Good luck on her admissions to SDSU as well.

@gosimoes- Congrats to your son!

@thepowerofone

Yes, she sent her ACT/SAT scores to both CSULB and SDSU, so hopefully she’ll hear something soon. I’m anxious for her to get whatever acceptances she is going to get, make a decision and put down her deposit for dorm housing. I’ll post here when I hear something. I’m more anxious than she is!

anyone know how much ap exam credits are worth for csu semester units?

I’m really in need of some insightt.

i have a 3.67 weighted gpa
1890/2400 SAT
AP Stats test- 3
i applied as a nursing major and chemistry as my second choice

however now i dont want to have anything to do with nursing or chem -_-

Csulb is my target school. I live 30 minutes from LA. in socal…
what do you guys think are my chances?
I realllllly hope i get accepted. i know my application wass reviewed cus i called them and the automated system says no other req docs needed at this time.

help~!

@ieatsharks- [Advanced Placement Examination Course Credit](California State University, Long Beach - Acalog ACMS™)

@LILMISSJ- The major you put won’t effect your admissions. You’ll be free to change your major. I think you have a good chance of getting in!

@LILMISSJ- With those SAT scores and GPA, I’d say your set. Your SAT is a little higher than mine (1830) and my GPA is a little higher (3.91) and I got accepted last week. I think the fact that you’re local-ish also makes a different. I’m from the SF Bay Area so I didn’t have that going for me.

For A-G I had a 3.8 but overall i have a 3.5 Unweighted it’s 3.9 something. Like only 2 honors classes and 1 Ap class this year… I live in San Pedro like right across the bridge from LB. I got a 23 on the ACT. Still waiting on LB… It’s freaking me out. I have like no C’s in my high school career soo hopefully it plays a part…

@thepowerofone - i know they say major doesn’t play a role in deciding whether you’re admitted but nursing is an impacted major…and people whove applied in a non-impacted major already got accepted. for some reason, no one from my school has gotten notice from LB yet.

@annathatshibby - what major did you apply as? and what major did they accept you in as?

thanks for the replys, i appreciate it guys…
btw, when does CSULB typically send out their acceptance letters??..
