CSULB - Class of 2015

This also is true, either way it works. I just caught wind of extra fees going into tuition this year as well. Hopefully budget isn’t going to get as severe as they fear

They arent done accepting. There is still ALL of march…

Yes that is true, that LB is still sending out acceptance letters through the month of March. My daughter is still waiting…she’s still getting that annoying “Your application has been reviewed and an initial (something) has been completed.” Many of my daughter’s friends received their LB acceptance letters last weekend. I went back and read others’ posts here who did get accepted, and it looks to me as if the status on the phone line changes on WEDNESDAYS, although I could be wrong.

Congrats to everyone here who is already accepted and for those that are waiting, hang in there…the entire month of March LB will still be accepting students!

I wish luck to your daughter!

Just an hour ago i went to the portal website and was finally able to officially “accept” my intent to enroll. Imagine my surprise though when they waived the 150$ enrollment fee. I didn’t even apply for a waiver o.o

I haven’t gotten anything in the mail yet though, and it’s been almost a month. So hopefully March will bring forth the elusive letter!

And housing opens tomorrowwww~~!

Got my official LETTER in the mail today from CSU Long Beach. Yeee!

just applied for housing!

hopefully i get first choice, international house. i liked how the music section had indie as a choice (im as indie as they come xD

and yaay! im hoping my actual letter comes one of these days,

Ialso got admitted it says on the portal for Pre-Psych.

Guess i didn’t need to fall through to my alternate, although I’m still going to double major probably. The language and psych building ARE right next to each other.

Double-Majoring in a language and Psych shouldn’t be that bad, yeah?

i just found out i was accepted to the educational opportunity program (eop)!! hurrah! the date’s february 25th. my father kept it because he thought it was the acceptance letter that i already received (he had no clue what eop is)!!! LOL! i’m pretty happy! nice to know all of that writing ended up somewhere! :D

edit: i’m in pre-psych too! if we attend, we’ll most likely be classmates… cool! :D

It sounds like a lot of people are first time freshman here. Has anyone transferring got accepted yet?

Someone please explain to me the housing app. What if you haven’t been accepted? Do you still apply?

And I’ve only received one letter from them with an id number. Nothing about a portal. How will I be notified?

Warped:

I applied for housing because I called the number a month ago and it said I’ve been provisionally accepted, as well as last night I accepted and admitted my intent to enroll via student portal.

To access the student portal use your campus ID number they gave you in that email, then activate your account. The link will be small on the upper right, but it’s called Tim or Tom or something like that, and you’ll have directions to make your own pw for the portal.

Once you’ve done this log in, and it should say whether you’ve been admitted or not also, if you haven’t called the number.

ONLY apply for housing if you’ve been provisionally accepted if you’re a new undergrad or a successful transfer. This is because the 400$ housing application fee is non refundable and would end up being a waste if you’re not accepted.

Although I think the system would recognize campus id’s of kids not accepted in this case idk,

But yeah.

And aha! Oh pre-psych. Glory to the mind and all that fun stuff,

Warped:

Call the Long Beach application status checker at 562-985-2500. Follow the prompts for admissions, then enter either your social security # or your student ID#, and your PIN, which is your birthdate. So if your birthday is May 18, 1993, you enter 051893. It will prompt you at some point to change the PIN, but you will also be able to find out if you’ve been accepted, rejected or if you’re application is still under review. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I did call. Still no decision. :/

Hey everyone I’m a freshman applicant who applied for a major in Psychology. I still haven’t heard back yet so I’m scared they’re gonna send a rejection soon! How do I check my status over the phone? I called the number, but it didn’t really say anything about checking admissions status

Just if you’re wondering, my stats are
3.8 gpa
1730/2400 SAT
600 CR, 510 Math [I suck at math, so thank God it doesn’t really apply to Psych]
620 Writing [Although this score doesn’t even matter]

I’ve taken a lot of honors courses and took 2 AP classes last year [Passed AP Psych with a 4  and AP Lang with a 3]
This year I’m taking AP Art History, AP Gov, AP Lit, AP Stats, and Advanced Drawing and Painting-- I have NO life hahaha

What do you guys think my chances are?

Long Beach and CSUSB are my backup schools if I don’t get into Cal Poly Pomona, and if I don’t get in there I would definitely love to be able to choose CSULB over CSUSB
– I also got REJECTED from Cal Poly SLO, but I was totally expecting that hahaha, and accepted to University of the Pacific [WAY too expensive, though :[ ]

I just called… Provisional Admission!

Hey can you tell me yur stats and your location because Im also applying to EOP.
Thanks!

@celebrated,
are you responding to me or someone else? I can’t really tell

Awesome Blondie!

Glad to see the Psych majors are slowly dominating this thread.

And Celebrated is probly talking to the other guy who got in through their EOP program

Hahaha yeah they are dominating

Ohh okay yeah that makes more sense. Thank you!

Just want to say congratulations to all that have been accepted and good luck to those who haven’t heard yet  Let’s make the Class of 2015 the BEST this world has ever seen!
