- CSULB Fall 2021 Transfer Thread -

I got my email today. I have to send it transcripts by the 16th of March.

Anyone a business major and get waitlisted?
Gpa: 4.0
Major: business admin
Location: bay area

Dear Psychiskool, thank you for responding! CSULB is also a dream school of mine and I am aware that the whole campus is impacted, not just the psychology major. I agree that your GPA is at a good standard (3.73, 3.83 AAT boost) and should be reconsidered. I started my appeal this week although I have different grounds for my appeal. We have 15 days since the admissions team informed us of our denial to submit an appeal. I wish the best for you. Let us know in the group chat if you win your appeal. Or we can start an appeal chat on College Confidential because I know that psychgrl444 is also submitting an appeal and potentially more.

Major: Business
GPA: 3.66
AST/AAT: yes, just filed my petition to receive it at the end of spring
Pre-Reqs: yes completed all my pre reqs with A’s, just finishing up GE’s
Golden 4:AAAA
Applied: CSUSF (accepted), CSUSM (accepted), CSUF (pending), CHICO (pending), CSULB (accepted), SDSU (pending), CAL POLY PAMONA (pending, received honors college offer)

Just got accepted to CSULB, I’m a San Diego local (north county). Very excited about CSULB but I got my eyes on SDSU.

Same, while CSULB is good. I think SDSU is more for my learning environment. I know SDSU has some classes that are huge. Where kids are, “More distracted, on their phone, and being on their laptop.” I know it sounds weird, but I always dreamed of this kind of learning environment. “Or social atmosphere at a college.” Coming from a small community college. I think CSULB is similar, like 20 students per class. Hate that feeling of being cramped and always locked onto the professor. I would thrive at CSULB either way; because of my studiousness and drive.

Lol. I JUST SENT MINE IT. Took 2 mins. Did it for sac state too. However, I have highest honors on one of my semesters and got honors last semester as well. So happy! CSULB GANG GANG BABY!

I can’t speak for CSULB but SDSU definitely has large classes but not all are huge. I used to go to my gf’s classes at SDSU and she only had two large classes and three smaller ones. It all just depends on the major I guess. SDSU has a beautiful campus though, very large and so many things at your disposal. And everyone is so social and outgoing, definitely a very upbeat campus life. I would go to the CC I currently attend and it would feel so blah cause it’s so small (feels like high school part 2)

Hey psychiskool, I got denied Feb 11th. My major was psychology too. I’m sending my appeal next week like you. I’ll explain in the Fall 2021 Transfer appeal thread what documents I’m including and what I’m going to say on the appeal. Sincerely, psychgirl3!

I just put a more in depth reason of my appeal in the other thread if you want to read it. Let me know if you have any questions or comments. I hope we can both get through the process successfully and win our appeals.

okay, but how is the meal plan at sdsu? its like two times more expensive than csulb after aid. prob gonna have to eat tonkatsu ramen and shinramyuen and some graham crackers and some for dinner every day. And some teddy grahams and some pancakes. and some bread sticks

Got rejected, not sure why honestly.

GPA - 3.76
Major - Sociology
Not local, from Bay Area
Golden 4 - A, A, A, A
AA-T - Yes, receiving end of Spring semester

Hmm vinny i feel very bad for u as i got in! Plz appeal so we can hopefully maybe see each other in the fall!

I was hoping to write about the basic pandemic situation. I have a family of 8 and 5 of them are younger siblings so I had to become a teacher to a kindergartener and a fifth grader. Before the pandemic, I was working two jobs, took around 17 units each semester (up until summer 2020) and had a 3.6 gpa. The pandemic hit me hard so hopefully thats great enough appeal.

I’m so sorry that the pandemic situation really took a toll on your family and you. It’s quite impressive that you were able to do that and still maintain above a cumulative 3.0 GPA. We created a CSULB transfer appeal fall 2021 forum on College Confidential if you would like to join. We will keep each other updated on the appeals process and can tell each other if we were accepted.

You got rejected with a 3.76 in Sociology? I would definitely appeal if CSULB is a school you really wanted to go to. It would be accepted

Just sent my appeal in. Hopefully I get in.
