Hi, I really want to transfer to CSULB for the fall 2017 / spring 2018 term. But I’m only a freshman and have like, no credits. I know they don’t accept lower divisions, but is there someone I could email about this and see if there’s an exception? I looked @ their website and couldn’t really find email info? Have they ever accepted lower division transfers before? HELP!
From CSULB’s website:
Lower Division Transfer Requirements
Students who have completed college units after graduation from high school are considered transfer students. Students who have completed fewer than 60 transferable semester college units (fewer than 90 quarter units) by the established deadlines are considered lower-division transfer students. CSULB does not currently accept applicants for most majors at the lower-division level.
I would call admissions to see which majors are available fir transfer.
What kind of stats did you have in HS? Since you have no credits yet, your HS record would be considered.
@Gumbymom - I know that they accept nursing majors as lower division, I think? But I’m a psych major. Idk if that’s impacted at CSULB though… My hs stats were okay, I was one of my school’s valedictorians, had a 4.0+ all 4 years, was in NHS junior/senior year, I took a lot of honors/AP, I have 13 AP credits, 1840 SAT, don’t remember my ACT lol (but it wasn’t that good…), some clubs… mostly A’s and B’s… but yeah. Do you think they would actually consider my hs record or just not bc I’m not upper division? At the end of freshman year, I’ll have 28 credits & I’ll be taking some in the summer, but there’s no way I’ll get to 60 lol. Would my AP credits count for admission purposes or no?
AP courses count. I would call CSULB to get a definitive answer and also work with a transfer advisor at your current school.
@gumbymom - its ok, i don’t think i’ll get in or even apply anyways. thanks for your help tho!
