I have a question. I enrolled at Fullerton College after I submitted the application for admission to CSULB to take a nutritions class that I put in progress (the course is recommended to take before coming to long beach). So I obviously didn’t list fullerton college as one of the schools I had attended. So when I had to fill out the supplemental app, I said that I was in progress in taking the nutritions class but did not list fullerton college. However, Long Beach only requested for my mt sac and embry riddle transcripts. Should I also send my fullerton college transcript to show that I am taking Nutritions class this semester to avoid my chances of taking away their conditional acceptance, even though they didnt ask for it?
@Esler No, I have not received a second acceptance. I do everything through my portal. I don’t recall my friend getting a second acceptance letter last semester either when she was accepted with conditional acceptance. They just need to confirm your documents are legit, and you are who you say you are and then they will take the “to-dos” off your portal, then you should be good to go. She said they send you an email when to sign up for SOAR, then when to sign up for classes, then that’s about it.
@Esler I got the second acceptance you were talking about!!!
I checked self applicant and I just got my acceptance today. Did anyone have trouble activating their account? Or do I have to wait for the email?
@xrhiannonx Can you quote the official acceptance that they sent you? I received the SOAR registration today and already signed up for it. I ordered my transcript since 10/09 and somehow it’s not clear in my To do’s yet, but I have an email from the clearing house indicating that Csulb already retrieved the transcript. I’m not sure if I still need to wait further for another official acceptance or I’m all set. Can someone help to put my worry away?!
Took about a day to activate my account. Over the weekend I got the email of conditional acceptance, I sent in my transcripts last night since they said they are due on November 8, and I just now accepted their offer.
Honestly I would give them a call to get some clarity. They did say that it would take 3-4 weeks to process transcripts once they receive them.
Checked my to do list just now and they cleared my transcripts. Also I received an email to sign up for soar.
@lenalefeb I signed up for SOAR as well!!! What day are you going? Also, I would call them about the To-Do’s not being cleared, maybe it was an honest mistake. Here is the official acceptance I received after my conditional acceptance.
"Dear Rhiannon,
Congratulations!
It is my privilege to invite you to become part of the California State University, Long Beach community for the Spring 2020 semester. You are offered admission to the Psychology BA program. Your acceptance should be a source of pride to you and your family. Remember to continue to do well in any courses you may currently have in progress. Although this current course work is not required to establish admission eligibility, it must be submitted to CSULB for purposes of granting transfer credit.
As you consider our offer of admission, I encourage you to review our “Steps for Newly Admitted Transfers” website to help you get acquainted with the programs, services, and resources available to you as a member of the CSULB family. This site includes important information on campus housing, cost of attendance, and financial aid.
A visit to our Steps for Newly Admitted Transfers website will also direct you to information on activating your MyCSULB account and accepting your offer of admission. If you are ready to reserve your spot in the Spring 2020 class, you can accept our offer of admission and submit your $150 enrollment deposit right now. If you are not ready to make a commitment, you have until December 1, 2019 to inform us of your decision."
Mindful, I already paid the $150 and reserved my spot before I got the official acceptance because I thought the first one was official soooooo, everything in this email I already did.
Is anyone signing up for the GWAR test this January? Also I heard that you have to take some additional English courses even if you do well on the test is that true?
Just wanted to congratulate everyone who got accepted and are planning on attending CSULB!
Make sure to take advantage of University’s clubs relating to your major! You will not just meet many new people but will also learn about the field you are planning on entering a lot more to help you get a head start from everybody else. It has been one of the best decisions I have made and I know you will too! I am in FMA CSULB, so if anybody is going into finance, dm me to learn more!
Happy Holidays!
@gigidiamands You will have to take GWAR within your first 2 semesters at CSULB, so earlier the better. You need to score 11 or higher to not take an additional course or courses if scoring lower than 7.
Everybody at CSULB has to take a “writing-intensive course” even if you pass with 11+. There are also few more courses yo uwill be required to take including Human Diversity and Global Issues, but thankfully there are many courses that can double count, so taking writing intensive/Global issues or writing intensive/Human diveristy is the best way to go, then the other one Global issues or the human diversity. Totaling two classes to take instead of 3
