hi guys. i'm attempting to transfer to UCLA from CSULB for my junior year. i know that it may be difficult, but it has been done. has anyone transferred from a cal state to ucla ? what major did you transfer as ? there is a list of classes to complete to transfer, for example, i'm attempting to transfer as a chem major and the website states that chem major transfers need to complete one and a half years of calculus, one year of chemistry, one year of organic chemistry, and one year of physics. if i don't complete all these courses prior to transfer, how much would it hurt my chances of admission ? any help or advice is appreciated. thanks guys !

yes u can…u just get the last of the proority in terms of transferring.

The more classes you complete the better chance you have of completing their respective program within the next 2 years. their goal is so that u can graduate quickly and someone else who is also capable gets a legitimate chance so as a result the more you complete looks in your favor.

Expect to have a pretty good GPA though. I know someone close who did with 3.7+ GPA into Environmental Science which has very similar criteria.

Easy answer here. For junior xfers, they admit by major. To qualify for admission as a particular major, they tell you what they are looking for. Adcoms love apps like yours because nobody likes turning down a qualified student, but nobody feels bad about turning down someone that can’t even meet the published list of requirements. So my prediction is your chances of admission are: 0%

Do you really believe they aren’t serious about that?
