CSULB transfer appeal- fall 2021

Lol being at pitzer is exactly what i hoped for in community college. Or from my college experience. Lmfaoo

Pitzer was too expensive and we were not meant to be. But now you are moving to another 4-year university that will be incredible too! Iā€™m looking forward to starting my 4-year university experience once more. It will be exciting. I donā€™t know if classes will be in person or not in the fall. If not, maybe Iā€™ll make some Zoom friends and we can have study buddy sessions together. You might go to CSULB, or Cal Poly SLO if you get in. Potentially SDSU too.

The only thing i hate is waiting. I need to get serious with my studies. My major prep classes have pushed me and inspired me to do more research. Improve my writing. Be the scholar I want to be. I want to understand the world from a philosophical perspective. Its quite intense but necessary for my educational experience.

I hate waiting too. I wish I knew right away so I could react and move on. Waiting allows my brain to go into the ā€œwhat ifā€ scenarios and it gives me anxiety. Now that Iā€™m waiting on my appeal and other college decisions my mind is playing out all kinds of scenarios and itā€™s making my head hurt. Iā€™m glad your major prep classes pushed you and inspired you to do more research as it should. You should love what you do and be passionate about what you love. Iā€™m taking an intro to philosophy class and we are able to think about the world in a more philosophical way. I love learning about other peopleā€™s thoughts and opinions.

Hey guys, so I got my appeal decision and they still were unable to offer me admissions to CSULB unfortunately even with all my documentation. Itā€™s really disappointing, but Iā€™ll go to a place that truly wants me, and that excites me. I think Iā€™ll be happy wherever I end up even though that wonā€™t be at Long Beach. Best of to you (psychiskool) with your appeal. I hope you win the appeal.

Good ā– ā– ā– ā–  psych i like ur thinking csulb for fall 2022 could go good or maybe spring 2021 if all goes right; grades and gpa wise in fall and spring

Sad to here that psych; are h ging to fullerton where are u ending for fall 2021,?

Aw low gpa what? I thpight u had like a 3,73? Lololol

Iā€™m sorry to hear this. They said I did ā€œnot meet the competitive requirements in order to be considered for admission at this time.ā€ Thatā€™s okay. I tried my best and I gave it my all. I donā€™t know what requirements I didnā€™t meet other than my GPA being low. I donā€™t think your GPA is ā€œlowā€ at all psychiskool! Itā€™s their loss though, just keep that in mind. You have much to bring and much to give. Iā€™m excited for you to go to CSUF, I firmly believe you will have a great time there. I donā€™t think Iā€™ll reapply to CSULB for fall of 2022.

haha yes a 3.8 with the .1 boost. i didnt think about spring tbh. i actually might consider doing spring now that u mentioned it. i read from the csuf thread, a girl got in with a 3.4 gpa, not local but lives in LA and got into csulb crying emoji

thank you so much! i hope ur able to transfer to a school that deserves you!

I still have yet to hear back from SDSU and Cal Poly Pomona. I have the appeal paperwork ready if I donā€™t get into either school. Otherwise Iā€™d either go to CSU Channel Islands or CSU San Bernardino.

Sdsu it is; youll love it there. I might go to sdsu too if i get in! Woot

So are u for sure headed to csuf?

Since you got into LB, if you get into SDSU, will you go there over LB? Or go to Cal Poly SLO, then LB, and the SDSU?

It depends psych i feel like i have to weigh a lot of things. Csulb is fine but its not as good socially as sdsu or cal poly slo i feel. If its on campus i might like those options because of their party school/great college town atmospheres. Literally a day to day decision for me up until may 1. I think csulb is the strongest for my field in liberal arts/social sciences/humanities for the job market and teaching. For my credentials and for my career resume. Cal poly slo is not as strong for my major (history) they are more known for architecture and agricultural. They might be off my list just because of that.

Oooh, thatā€™s a tricky one then. Youā€™re still waiting on Cal Poly SLO and SDSU right?
