Which of these CSUs is the best for Computer Science I am just concered about the quality of the program I dont care about how impacted the school is. Thank you.
Have you tried a side by side comparison of the each schools curriculum? What is best for one person, may not be best for another.
Assuming you can get in, all 3 will offer similar instruction quality and curriculum. Tour the schools, talk to some students and teachers and see which seems like a place you are comfortable you can excel.
Overall ranking: Fullerton State -> California State Polytechnic -> Long Beach State
CS: California State Polytechnic -> FSU/LBSU (two similar schools tbh)
Fullerton became a research university, if that is a troubling characteristic to you.
Here’s another approach:
would you rather sit in traffic on the 405, the 91/57 or the 10/57?
@arc918 lol
@elefish92 I don’t understand how being declared a ‘research university’ would suddenly impact reputation or the quality of instruction at a campus with a 50+ year tradition such as Fullerton. CSUF is a very good school, no matter which category they are ranked in.
In the abstract, for most programs, Long Beach probably edges out both from an academic reputation perspective. For STEM majors, CPP probably wins across the board, though LB is right there with it’s hard science programs. That said, when choosing between 3 schools like these, personal fit should drive the choice every time.
