Okay so to start off I’m a transfer student who is majoring in psychology and planning on minoring in human development and I will be transferring this fall. However I’m really debating about these two schools in terms of location, program, and money. I don’t know which would benefit me the most in the long run. I have so far gotten accepted to UCSB and other CSU’s but I narrowed my choices down between Long Beach and Fullerton because they pretty much guarantee me from taking out any loans (which is exactly why I’m avoiding UC’s) but I’m just not so sure if going to one school will benefit me better than the other in my major (internships, graduate school, cost, etc)
From what I’ve read on here, UCs are the master race school compared to CSUs and apparently you’ll have an easier time getting into grad school?
@Scottyyyybooii While they might be more prestigious than CSU’s, I’m not planning on going into debt for a BA in psychology.
Fullerton and Long Beach are both very good schools. Spend some time on both campuses and pick the one that feels like the best fit. You are wise to avoid debt, particularly at this stage of your education. @Scottyyyybooii has no idea what he/she is talking about. When you apply for a grad school, as long as you graduated from an accredited school, GPA and GRE - some programs want letters of rec and perhaps some experience. At a CSU like Fullerton or Long Beach, you have much better access to your professors than you would at a UC.
Wherever you go, establish a relationship with a couple of Profs, earn good grades and get some relevant experience… you should have no trouble finding your way into a good grad school.
@NCalRent Thank you so much for your feedback
