These are my top college choices and neither one has an edge over another. I would like to know which university I should choose. I’m going to be majoring in accounting. What advantages/ disadvantages does each university have in terms of location, the people, the program, and anything that can help me in choosing my decision. Thanks!
i think one of the reasons you are having trouble deciding is that the schools are similar in many ways. I’d spend some more time on each campus and the surrounding area, where will you be most comfortable living, shopping, dining, etc? Make a point of interacting with other students and see who you click with. Do a pro/con list for each school. I imagine you will have a clear winner after that exercise but, if not flip a coin. There isn’t a wrong decision
Long-time So Cal CPA here, honestly, here’s the decision you need to make: would you rather sit in traffic on the 57 or the 405? Assuming you’re local, indeed try to visit campuses on both a busy weekday and weekend. Bring some homework and sit in the student center. Try to visit both business schools as well. Congrats and good luck!
Actually I’m planning on living on/off campus for both universities. Thanks for the advice.
Both schools are AACSB-accredited for general business education (which you want to have). However, CSUF also holds the optional AACSB accreditation for accounting specifically. While accounting-specific accreditation is not required to take the CPA exam, there is some evidence that it is associated with higher exam performance:

My $.02: there are plenty of VERY well respected accounting programs without the above-mentioned accounting accreditation. I believe only 5 schools in CA have it (USC, USD, SDSU, Santa Clara, CSUF). Not trying to be defensive on the matter, as I have accounting degrees from two schools on the list (just by chance).
