CSULB vs UC Davis

I’m planning on transferring in the fall from a community college in Orange County to either Cal state long beach or UC Davis. It has been very hard trying to make a decision so I was hoping to get a little insight into both schools and see if one is better for my specific major. I am a nutrition and dietetics major at long beach and clinical nutrition at Davis. Both are the same majors they just have different names. I am also vegan/plant-based so I am not sure if one school would be more accepting of that? For me long beach is definitely closer and the “safer” option but Davis seems like such a great town and would be more of a change of scenery which could be nice. I am very stuck on which school to choose and any information about the school or major would help so much!

they are both good so, follow your heart (which sounds like UCD). if you can afford the cost difference - head to Davis for the college town and change of scenery.

Congratulations on your admittance to both schools  I know they both offer internships and have an amazing program. I would choose the campus where you see yourself thriving and being able to focus on your studies. If moving farther from home is something you’re comfortable with then go for Davis! I’m also vegan and want to transfer as a clinical nutrition major…any advice?

My vote is for UC Davis. It is a great college town, a warm, safe and friendly campus with lots to do. It is inland and not near the beach like CSULB but its stellar academic reputation combined with the clubs, activities, culture and fun make it a great place to study and live

Where did you end up going? And how do you like that school? Curios as these are two schools I’m very interested in. Thanks!
