CSUN counting gen. ed classes towards major requirement?

CSUN’s site has a 4-year sample schedule planner for every major that breaks down a schedule for you. For the Psych major, a specific psych class is required that the planner says also gives credit for gen. ed social science requirement. The specific math class that is required for the major also says on the planner gives credit for the gen. ed basic math requirement. However, the gen. ed section of their website notes: “A student may count for GE credit only ONE GE course that counts for major credit and is offered by the department of the major.” Since a math class isn’t offered by the psychology department (department of my major), does that mean I can get gen ed and major credit for BOTH these two classes? Or only one of them? It’s not very clear online.

they will probably allow you to apply course outside the major but, I would call (or visit) and ask. The stakes for guessing wrong are pretty high.
