Hey guys!
just wondering if anyone has gotten accepted yet? I applied as a Cinema Arts Major and going for the screenwriting option, which impacted so I’m kind of nervous…
I’m not local but live in CA.
My GPA is a 3.62.
I have all pre reqs done
CSUN is my first choice but also waiting on SDSU as my second choice. I was already denied from CSULB, so not a great start for me.
Let me know how things are going/ if you got accepted or denied/ what other schools you are hoping for!
Hey there! Animation major here! I also live in CA but I’m not considered local.
I haven’t received anything at all! Hopefully we get our answers soon!
GPA:3.59
Pre-reqs: done!
CSUN and CSULB are both pending for me
CSUF: accepted!
Good luck to you!
Hello,
I’m also a film major, still undecided between the film production or screenwriting option.
I still haven’t heard from CSUN, the portal still shows:
Status
Applicant
You have applied for Undergraduate admissions as a Transfer Student for the Fall Semester 2018, as a Resident. You have indicated an academic plan of CTVA - Provisional Film.
I still haven’t heard from CSULB (which worries me a lot, since the deadline for the portfolio is in 5 days) or CSULA.
Above that, they are asking for the final transcripts with the due date of 07/13, but for what I’ve been reading here, this is standard.
Accepted/Denied: Waiting
Instate/OOS- Instate, local student from LACC
GPA: 3.95
Major: Film
AA-T/AA: AA on Liberal Arts
Golden 4: I have finished them already with As on all of them.
Let me know if you hear back from them. I’m already tired of checking the portal 5 times a day.
@EricPbr If you’re local with a 3.95 you should totally get into CSUN!!
What school is your first choice? I will for sure let you know when I hear back, hoping its soon!
@cmariecc UCLA is my first choice, but you know how competitive it is! I hope I can get in. Also waiting to hear back from CSULB (which I really hope I can get in for screenwriting) and CSULA.
Good luck for you too!
I got accepted at 2/15/18 for CSUN and CSULB the day after.but I haven’t heard from CSULA yet too.
Major: Criminal justice
AS-T for criminal justice and AA in communications
In state, local (LACC)
GPA: 3.56
Golden 4: Finished w/ A’s and B’s
I was admitted on Jan. 25 but I haven’t received a package. Has anyone?
I applied last year as CTVA major, and I am currently in the program. If anybody has any questions about the transfer admissions process, the school itself or the Mike Curb College programs, feel free to ask either here or send me a PM. I went through the pain of the waiting game last year, so I just wanted to reach out and see if I can help calm anybody else’s nerves. Good luck, everyone!
@unpaidguidence19 Were you Local or Non Local? Ive been hearing so much about non local students needing a crazy high GPA to be considered. The counselors at my cc told me there was no way I’d get in with a 3.62, which really sucked to hear. Id love to hear any info you can give, thanks!
@cmariecc I was considered Local, but for CTVA with a 3.6, you should be fine Out of state is another story but you’ll be okay. I got into SDSU and UCSD with a 3.3 so I wouldn’t get too worked up about it. As long as you have you have your pre-reqs done, I’d say you have a good shot!
@unpaidguidence19 I just message you. Thanks for helping us!
I got accepted as a Computer Science major for Fall 2018 Transfer. I also got denied from CSULB. You’ll be fine
I’m transferring in from another CSU not a CC with a 3.65 on an impacted major. If you are local that’s basically an immediate acceptance. I just moved into the area so I’m hoping the requirement this year for non-local drops. Has anybody been accepted out of the area to an impacted major? I’ve been calling and they still don’t have the new GPA requirement. Thanks.
Status: Waiting
Major: CTVA - Screenwriting
GPA: 3.54 (All A’s in major-related classes)
In-state but non-local (Long Beach CC)
Applied also to SFSU (Accepted) and CSULB (Rejected)
I’m in major nail-biting mode right now because CSUN is my first choice. Good luck everyone!
Idk if it will be different from me since i’m transferring from another CSU
Hey I am transferring to CSUN and on my portal I was never asked to give a transcript on February showing my work in progress and was instead told to give a final transcript with my spring grades. I had applied here last year but did not end up going and have applied again. They do have an old transcript of mine from last year. Was I still supposed to give them a preliminary transcript even though my portal never mentioned anything?
Status: Still waiting
Major: Kinesiology- Dance
GPA: 3.93
In-State
I got admitted into CSUF and CSULB, but I prefer CSUN. I hope we hear back soon!!
@Papaya11 I do believe they wanted a transcript showing your Fall grades or at least the classes in progress. Your portal will tell you if they have an official transcript from you or not. Mine told me I needed to send one under “my checklist” there are completed and incomplete tasks. Now that they have mine it shows it has been completed. If it never asked for one then you might want to give admissions a call and ask them.
You always have to send updated transcripts with classes that are finished (final transcripts), just call them.
@Tomn182 I sent mine really early, with only fall classes in progress, I guess i should have sent an updated with spring classes in progress, hope that doesn’t mess up my chances.
