CSUN Fall 2019 Transfers

@mchoneybone I am a screenwriting major so I’m not entirely sure. I believe it is for current students (since its asking for the DPR) but I don’t know 110%
Since I do not want to give you any wrong information, I would email professor Nate Thomas and ask him directly. Be sure to save all emails!

I heard back from them on Thursday, I’m in for Fall! If I choose to go there lol.

@firefox952 congrats, what were your stats?

@ashley31836-

Major: History
GPA: 2.82
AA-T/AS-T: None
Pre-reqs: Finished
Golden 4: Done
Area: North LA County, by magic mountain
Other schools applied to: CPSLO, CSUSB, CPP, CSULB, CSULA, CSUF, CSUSM, CSUDH, SDSU.

I’m also currently attending Chico State at the moment, so I gotta wait to turn in my transcripts from here If I do ultimately decide to go to CSUN. And thank you! :).

Oh wow you’re also another CSU student like me! Is chico state local to csun? How did you already receive your decision when you’re not from hs or cc?

@ashley31836 - I am! Nah, Chico State is all the way in Nor-Cal, about 85 miles north of Sacramento. I applied to Chico for Spring 2018 and I got in, however (and long story short, I don’t like it here as much as I thought), I’m deciding to transfer out for Fall 2019. I think It may be because I’m originally from LA (Magic Mountain area), and they could be letting applicants from the local areas know prior? That’s my theory at least.

hi! I submitted my transcripts and now it says to send another one by July 15th… I’m not taking any spring courses (finished them this winter), so should I just send my final transcript with my winter grades now? or wait to see if I’m admitted and then submit?

@pvgirl2015 -I would check your CSUN email (that’s how I found out my decision) and in that case either contact them or send it to them ASAP.

Has anybody else been accepted? I am a local transfer student with an AA-T in English and an A.A. in Humanities.
I have a 2.92 GPA but the AA-T should bump it up to a 3.02. Does anybody know what my chances of being accepted are? Have your of local students with GPAs of at least 3.0 being rejected? Freaking out over here lol.

Have you heard of local students with at least a 3.0 GPA being rejected?**

@Sportello -You should be in if your a local. Outside applicants have to have a 3.7+ to be considered from what I remember reading. Also, check your CSUN email. They won’t send your decision through your normal email, but to your CSUN student email.

Thank you! @firefox952 I am definitely local, thankfully. I can’t believe how big of a difference the required min GPA for local and non local transfer students is! Yikes.

@Sportello- Your welcome, and yeah, it really is.

Hi guys, does anyone know how long it takes for CSUN to process through eTranscripts? I ordered my transcripts Sunday, order was completed Monday morning, & I’m still waiting to see my portal change. (today is Tuesday) I wanted to get my A from my winter session in there. Please reply!!!

@xpatsxjoshx hi! I ordered my transcripts on 1/29 and selected “rush handling” (for an e transcript) and it was received by them on 1/31  good luck!

@pvgirl2015 hi! Yeah, I ordered on 02/10 and got the e-mail saying that CSUN received it on 2/11. I’m just being anxious because I’m wondering how long does it take for them to review it? (Transcripts deadline is 02/15)

ALSO, has your CSUN portal changed since they received it on 01/31? And if so, how many days after they received it? Please reply, thanks!

@xpatsxjoshx They probably received them today but the portal won’t update till early morning(like 2:30 a.m. I heard) I was in your exact situation and the next day the portal was updated.

@Sportello Thanks man! Yeah, I’m a little nervous. Even though I’m considered a local student w/ a 3.3 GPA, I still wanted my A from this past Winter Session in there. And yeah, I got an e-mail from the company (Credentials Solutions) that handles transcripts saying that CSUN has received it successfully. So I’m hoping my portal changes soon. Thanks for the help!!!

also, anybody know what the lowest GPA is they’ll accept for a local transfer into the film program?

@xpatsxjoshx I had to send two transcripts because I originally attended a different university and then a CC, they changed my portal indicating they’d received my CC transcript within 2 days after that!
