CSUN or UCLA? Please help, I have a week to decide!

Hey everyone,

I got accepted to CSUN and UCLA but I have no idea what to choose :’(
I have a 3.65 (weighted) GPA and SAT score of 1780 and ACT score of 24.

I just feel so out of place. I went to Bruin Day last Saturday and I feel academically challenged compared to the other people there. I know people tell me to not compare myself to people there but I can’t help it when a better GPA can lead to better financial aid…

My romantic partner goes to CSUN, and they like it there. I like the different sociology majors and the atmosphere around the school. It’s not so bustling as the one around UCLA.

The thing is, I’m not exactly low income. I qualify for the Blue and Gold Opportunity but I don’t know if I’ll qualify for it for the next few years. I guess the thing that really is bugging me is that I don’t know what I want to study.

Please help me and provide any opinions, I appreciate them all. Thanks.

I would go to UCLA it has more opportunities for research. Also, don’t let fear stop you. If you are admitted you obviously showed them you have what it takes and UCLA doesn’t just let everyone in so your ability to succeed stood out. Competition is everywhere whether you go to a UC or not. It is not easy bit you can do it. You worked so hard so don’t sell yourself short out of fear. I know people who transferred to UCLA from community college and had kids. They had the same feara. But theu graduated from UCLA and got into UCLA medical school as well. So don’t get intimidated. You have what it takes and should not let go of UCLA out of fear.

UCLA. If it doesn’t work out, you can try and transfer to csu n. The reverse isn’t possible. Do plan on working hard to take advantage of the chance you were given though. :slight_smile:
