Hi guys! I am Junior in a public high school in California and I am looking into colleges. As far as UC’s I am planning on applying to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD and UCSC. But I am not sure which, if any, CSU’s I should apply to. Major-wise I am deciding between ecology, genetics or global health, so basically biology. I also hope to do a language minor and study abroad. My unweighted GPA is 3.93, weighted is 4.40. I got a 207 on the PSAT. I am the historian of GSA and amnesty international. I am in Science Olympiad and two community college classes, I have some volunteer experience and am looking to gain more. I also have tutoring and babysitting experience. So basically, what CSU’s would you recommend that I could probably get in to?
You should consider Cal Poly SLO and possibly SDSU. SDSU would be a definite safety if you get a good SAT based on your PSAT. SLO can be tough, so I would consider it a Match but not a safety. If you need one more safety, consider your local in-service area CSU.
Other than Cal Poly SLO, you sounds like a lock for any CSU you see fit.
With Cal Poly you never know. My cousin was admitted to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, etc., but denied by Cal Poly. She was even a Regent & Chancellor candidate at Cal, where she ended up going.
