I'm an incoming freshman at Michigan, so I have no idea how any of this works. I've been sitting in on a large lecture class during the current summer term and I would like to be able to access the notes and the homework, which are only available on the course's Ctools site. The catch is that I am neither enrolled nor auditing the course.

So, is it possible to join a course's Ctools website without (1) previously being enrolled in the course, (2) subsequently enrolling yourself in the course, or (3) facing any other sort of consequence?

Thanks for the help.

Pretty sure that’s not possible. You could try talking to the professor and ask him to add you to the course Ctools access list, but I doubt they will unless you are supposed to be there. Technically, you aren’t even supposed to be sitting in on a class if you aren’t enrolled or auditing it.

You can just ask the professor. I’ve done it a few times, just asked them to add me to the ctools site, and they did it no problems. They just said to not turn in homework or take tests, that kind of thing. In my experience everyone’s cool with it.

I think you are supposed to be registered.

You could register for the class and then access C-tools. If you drop by July 10 you should be able to get your tuition back less a fee of $90.00 for regsitration and disenrollment. If you are already registered for another class then you may even be able to avoid that.

If he gets onto ctools because of wolverine access he’ll be taken off if he disenrolls. That’s automatic.
