CTOPS time and AP Cred

I'm looking at a July 10 (i think) CTOPS session becuase this works well with our summer plans. However, I can't remember when AP scores are supposed to come back and I don't exactly trust USPS to deliver them on time anyway. If I don't have the official scores back from AP when I go to CTOPS can I still be considered tested out of them? I assume I should be able or else people attending CTOPS throughout all of June would not be able to register for upper-level classes.

Awwww that's when I went!

You can basically guess your grades after you take the test and base your schedule off of that. And plus you're not going to be able to get into many upper-level classes anyway because you're a freshman and get last picks.

ok so you're saying that i dont need to have my AP scores reported to sign up for classes?

as far as priority goes im hoping to have a little bit of sway from honors/scholarship programs, but im not sure how much emphasis they place on that

Nah. I mean, I didn't.

With honors you get first dibs for honors classes, but (I think) that's it.

ok cool thanks for your help

By July 17, do you think they'll be reported? I can't remember when the AP scores were sent out last year.

I received my scores on July 12th, but they are available by phone (and an $8 fee, per score) on July 1st.

I would sooner wait until July 12th -- or just sign up for an earlier CTOPS session. Most of my friends waited to get their scores, and wound up unhappy with their initial course loads anyways. Those who decided to forgo knowing their scores and went early, however, found a little bit more variety in available classes.

Scuba - then you would recommend that my son attend an early session to get the more advanced courses? We are OOS and that will require additional costs to come to NC - want to make sure that it is worth it. My son would like to come down in June.

It's not $8 per score it's per phone call.

don't you need verification though to sign up for a chemistry course. I'm thinking you would need more than a phone call.
