I just recently committed to Boulder and I need help with deciding dorms. I’m a guy and I am in Exploratory Studies but want to eventually pursue something in business. So far I’m interested in Baker, Sewall, Farrand, and Libby, but I don’t know much about them.
Here are some things I want:
-Close to campus
-Mix between studies and partying. Not a huge partier but I will now and then
-Bathroom in dorm if possible
-Not completely crammed rooms
-A mix of different types of people
I just want to know some dos and donts that I should focus on while applying for housing based on atleast some of my wants
It’s also important that there aren’t 20 parties going on in my dorm on a weekday. I’m kinda worried about that
@anon96077835 I think you should be prepared to live at Williams Village, but try for other dorms. Its a nine month experience, so don’t worry that much. It will be over soon, and you can choose a new place to live, or try Williams Village for upper classmen in year two. Williams Village is about 1 mile south. It offers a cafeteria, and a recreation center. By now, I bet, all the on campus housing may be filled up. However, Williams Village is newer, and quieter, in part. Don’t stress about housing. Wherever you live will be fine and you can walk in most weather, from Williams Village to campus.
don’t obsess about being on “campus” with a freshman dorm. Some of those are near the football stadium and rather noisy.
On parties, you choose if you party. The biggest parties are off campus on “The Hill”. Avoid the Hill and you will be fine.
