@billybobby54 I hope you’re right!
What were everyone’s stats???
34 ACT, 3.96 UW, 4.4 W
Is anyone else being bombarded with promotional emails from CU all of a sudden? DD received very few from CU prior to December but now gets one every few days. Videos about reasons to pick CU, what kinds of students attend CU, how great it is to live in Boulder, a 30 second campus tour. DD applied back in early September and meet with the regional admission rep during a HS visit in early October so its not like she just was added to the mailing list. Every time she gets an email she thinks it’s an one telling her she has been admitted or to check her portal.
@labegg yep. Just like you, every couple of days. Question: aren’t they releasing on 1/15? If so, that’s MLK day. Wonder if they’ll move it since I would think they will be closed.
We were receiving more back at the beginning of Dec and received a couple of items in the mail in December. Are you instate or oos?
@cubhopeful OOS
@labegg YES!! My son has suddenly been bombarded with those emails as well. I was wondering if that may mean they were evaluating him now…that’s why I started anther thread asking if status change goes straight to a decision or if it will say “under evaluation” first. Also, I assumed admissions is closed now for the holiday, but not sure…
Ok, we are instate. Obviously different timing for each.
@cardinal2020mom Everything says “by 2/1”, but I know other colleges are saying 1/15 even though it is MLK day???
More and more emails keep coming. Now financial aid as well as admissions is reaching out. Hopefully more decisions start coming soon…
I am getting really discouraged. I applied months ago and haven’t heard yet. CU is my first choice but applications are due in a few days at most other schools. I didn’t want to have to apply to those schools if I got in at CU. My sister and others I knew in past years heard from CU by Christmas. I have a 3.5 and a 1200 on my SAT so I think I should be okay. But if I don’t get in I need to apply somewhere else.
@rofiorillo I have no idea where I saw 1/15. I could have confused the deadline for reg admission apps. Maybe wishful thinking on my part.
@hiker223 you need to apply to some other schools just to be safe. Do not miss the deadlines. You do not want to be empty handed come May 1st.
@hiker223 Don’t worry, I have a 34 ACT and 4.4 GPA and I haven’t been accepted yet. You’ll know by the end of the month
@hiker223 My son has similar stats. We feel like he’ll be okay (CU is his #1 also) but you just never know. In the past, applicants did hear before Christmas, but they are no longer rolling this year and only guarantee EA will hear by 2/1…
I know that I need to apply to other schools so I have a backup, but I have wanted to go to CU for as long as I can remember. Hopefully, we will all hear something soon.
I know its easier said than done, but don’t get discouraged. You are not alone in the increased anxiety due to the delayed (non-rolling) admissions at CU this year. It’s REALLY more difficult when we are continually told by past freshman classes that they knew by Thanksgiving/Christmas break. This year is simply a different process- and it’s hard to explain that to past applicants. Good luck to you!
@hiker223 - My S has very high stats and has not heard back from CU. We are in-state, 45 minutes north of the campus so I know that they are just taking their time. He has already heard back from 13 other schools so CU is way behind and should consider speeding up their timeline!
Will CU have time to consider first semester senior grades that are being mailed out by the high schools in the next week or so before making EA decisions and notifying by 2/1?
