I really enjoyed keeping up with students as they were applying last year so I thought I’d recreate a similar thread for this year!
Also, I’m finding it funny how many parents I see on this site talking about their kids past and current experience LOL. I’m a senior and CU is my top choice.
My son is a senior and has applied to CU’s engineering dept. Good luck to you!!
Do we know when they might release admissions for 2023?
Early Action should hear back by Feb. 1st.
I was reading a page from last year and it seems CU starts releasing EA decisions on the day of the regular deadline (January 15). I wish they would continue their rolling admissions from a few years back.
I submitted on 11/2 (3.56 GPA, 32 ACT Superscore, Marketing) and waiting even just this month has been killing me!
Roughly 10,000 more applications received than in 2014, and the figure keeps rising. This is the reason that
rolling admissions have gone by the way side.
However, they did advise exceptional students 1st (Use for be for CO. Esteemed Scholars). Not sure is this still
holds true. If you check with Admissions…I believe they’ll tell you BY Feb. 1st now days.
I’m wondering if anyone can help me out: I decided to apply to Colorado only a few days before the EA deadline, and luckily I got my application, essay, transcripts and recommendation all sent on or before Nov. 15. I ordered my ACT score on Nov 13, and it arrived on Nov 16 according to my application portal. I know this is a day after the deadline for EA, but a question in the FAQ with an answer saying that the Nov 15 deadline is a “postmarked on OR electronic submission deadline” confused me. I don’t know which category ACT scores would fall into: postmarked, or electronically submitted? I tried emailing my regional counselor but haven’t heard back after 2 weeks. Does anyone know if I’ll still be reviewed in the EA round, or do you think they’ll move me to RD? Thanks! :))
Many schools have a grace period for everything except your application but you should call your admissions counselor and find out.
I have applied to the engineering dept as an OOS senior. Can’t wait to find out as CU is my top choice, though the price tag is horrific and hard to justify with great in-state engineering schools here in NC.
isaac74, the engineering dept at NC State sounds amazing. I agree would be hard to justify passing up that school.
Yeah ngl just made this account to post here. CU was the only school I applied early to, so the earliest I hear back is January 15th I guess which is the date people throw out there. It leaves me a little anxiety-stricken to see a lot of people getting their decisions back good or bad, where I get left hanging in imbalance. Oh well though, decisions will come out soon enough. Best of luck to you all!
Lol greatest username ever! @StressHeadsUnite
ahh I’m anxiously waiting, do we know the earliest potential date… I’ve heard Jan 15th too but also that might just be for instate- (I’m personally out of state) last year people heard through feb. good luck to everyone!!
CU used to have a much earlier notification date, so it’s impossible to know if the Jan 15 date is hard or soft. My nephew 4 years ago knew by Thanksgiving, and I told a friend last year that acceptances were out (read it here on CC) and her daughter knew before Christmas. I think CU will try to get acceptances out as soon as they can.
Visited CU over the summer, the campus is beautiful. Definitely one of my top choices.
I’ve been spending more time than I’d like to admit scrolling through last year’s thread, and it’s looking like arts&sciences were released on 1/16, then business and engineering on 1/17. Fingers crossed that they do this again, CU is my top choice and the last I’m waiting to hear from.
Is there anything about the College of Media and Communications?
This school is my son’s top choice also. He applied for engineering, hoping to hear something soon.
@lucyfc Not that I’ve seen in the other thread.
