Hello:

I've been accepted into both University of Colorado's LEEDS School of Business & University of Denver's Daniels School of Business, and I can't decide which way to go. First of all, DU is about 3 times the price of CU ($40K/year compared to $15K/year). DU has smaller classes and is more selective in ways, but is the price worth it? I'm staying in state (Colorado) for college and have to pay my own way through. My parents will co-sign loans for me if I need them to, but I'd rather not do into debt until I need to. Which school would you choose? Rankings show that CU Leeds is better than DU Daniels, but I've heard very good things about DU and that an MBA from DU is very good looking on a resume. However, I could always go to DU for graduate and CU for undergrad, but DU has a 5 year MBA program. I'm really stuck on this issue. I like DU alot, but it's VERY expensive and I guess I need to know if it's worth the price for undergrad and going into debt for. As far as my intended major(s), I'd like to do something with real estate/construction management with finance/marketing & business admin. I'd like to have my own firm someday. Please, any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Anyone?? Pretty please...

Go with Colorado. It's a highly ranked school--has a higher profile and "esteem" than Univ of Denver--and you should save your money for when you go to graduate school--not go way into debt at a very young age.

Additionally, as I've said on other posts--an MBA after 4 years of work following an undergraduate degree is far more valuable than a combined 5 year MBA program.

Don't worry--you'll have fun at Colorado and still get a great business degree--and at half the cost.

Ok everyone, I got into both CU Leeds and DU Daniels Business colleges and I can't decide which one to go to. They will cost me about the same in the end with scholarships so in other words, which one would be a better place for me to go? Thanks

Anyone know which one ranks better, or would be a better pick and why? Why are 5 year MBA programs not viewed highly? Thanks

My advice: forget rankings, and go to the school that is going to teach you what it will take to succeed... the worst thing you can do is base your decision on rankings, end up hating the school, do poorly, not learn anything, and in the end.... waste all that time and money... so take a look inside and think about what you really want from college... and which school will best provide that--regardless of what USNews says... because the net growth, learning result is what counts, not the name on the paper.
