CU Boulder Transfer (College of Arts and Sciences)

I am a student at a really competitve top 20 school looking to transfer to CU. I need to transter because I’m just really unhappy here and I want to go back home. However, I’m really worried about getting in. Though I’m from a competitive school, my cumulative GPA is a 2.82. I explained some of it in my essays, which I thought were well written!
I also did research there over summer, and I’m getting an excellent letter of recommendation from a professor that works there. My EC’s are also pretty good, and I presented myself well overall. I also applied pretty early.

I’m just freaking out about my GPA right now. I know that the minimum GPA to be considered for admission is a 2.5, but I don’t know if a 2.8 is competitive. They do assure CC students with a 2.7 guaranteed admisison, which gives me hope because I’m transferring with something higher than that from a well known university.

Should I be worried about admission? I’m not sure if I even stand a chance.

What year are you now, Kay? My D is also thinking about transferring to CU in college of arts and sciences. From their online stats it looks to be relatively easy to transfer in. Have you looked into transferring credits, etc? The app deadline is Oct 1-- so early!

Have you heard anything yet from admissions?? Nothing here.

Two of my friends applied to transfer last year for spring semester, one of them went to trinity (very hard) the other went to long beach, my friend who went to trinity didnt get accepted and she had a 3.5 gpa and my friend who when to long beach also got denied and had a 3.3
over the years boulder has become very popular and they are getting more applicants every semester
But i wouldnt let that discourage you! its a your college gpa and you attend a hard school i think your fine
