CU Boulder vs Univ Indiana, vs UofArizona

So the three schools I'm debating about going to are University of Colorado Boulder, Indiana University Bloomington, and University of Arizona

In-state for me is UofA, so the only real reason I would go there is for more financial help from my parents in the future, since UA tuition is so much cheaper.

I love everything about Boulder. Boulder is my number 1 school of choice. I've visited many times in all different weather and love it. The small college town feel, the liberalness, the fact that it is away from home but not too far, the environment, the people, the fact it's a party school and has a good greek system but it's not too overbearing, the school spirit.. EVERYTHING.

only issues
1) the tuition is double that of in-state and more than most out of state schools
2) I don't really know what I want to do yet, but it most likely is going to be in the liberal arts, and Boulder definetely is stronger in the Sciences and Engineering side of things.
Is going to my dream school, UC Boulder, worth the money if i could get a better education at a different place? I will probably need grad school too.

The other out of state school I'm looking at is Indiana. Their majors ARE AWESOME, it has good school spirit, good greek and party school, cheaper than boulder. Except, it is sooooo far away from Arizona, it is a huuuuge school, I feel like it would be overwhelming and hard to navigate, that in-state kids would all know each other (since it's like, eh, indiana) and I feel that outside of the campus...what is there to do in Indiana? It's not like Tucson where Phoenix is there, or Boulder where oh look there's Denver.

Andd I just really don't want to go in-state because I've lived with the same people 18 years and I want more independence and hate the desert and yada yada. So yeah.

Help me pleaaaase And sorry it's so long haha :)

Go to Boulder. It has what you want including a really pretty campus.

CU has 26,000 undergrads, IU 32,000. They’re both huge - you wouldn’t notice the difference. Boulder is a fantastic town with awesome scenery and it’s a draw for students from all over the country. Accordingly, CU can charge top dollar for a public school with limited scholarship opportunities - and that’s exactly what they do. IU is gorgeous, fun, and quintessentially college - it’s a good bargain and Bloomington is a great college town. I doubt IU students have a great need to have a metropolis next door.

Personally, with all things equal, I’d choose Boulder but I don’t think I’d pay close to $200,000 to do it.

i guess that’s true about the size of the schools. it just seems bigger and more foreign i guess because it’s a little too far away from where i live, and i’ve never been there.

also though, despite the fact that boulder might be getting rid of their journalism school, i’m considering going into broadcast journalism, which wouldn’t need grad school. that would save money, making it more reasonable to go to boulder? that is, assuming they’re not getting rid of it.
