Cult Films

monty python, dr. strangelove, and rocky horror picture show are all on it.

well, if wikipedia says it, it must be true!

"regardless, the majority of films youve posted arent cult films. sorry. you arent as cool as you think you are."

Timothy: what are you talking about? You are going to insult me because I posted some support for my and drusba's statements? You are acting silly... stick to the thread or start a new one called "let's b*tch about boognish, wikipedia, and drusba"

we are listing what we and most people regard as cult films. If you aren't interested get off the thread

Office Space

donnie darko

sin city (kinda)

boondock saints

scarface

slc punk

pi

I love SCL Punk!....

The Big Lebowski

evil dead, pulp fiction, house of 1000 corpses, battle royale

Eraserhead.

just because its weird doesn't mean its a cult film. big lebowski is at least in the right ballpark

Oh shut the hell up already. "That is not cult, this is, that is not!"

Jeez.

http://www.filmsite.org/cultfilms.html
http://www.filmsite.org/cultfilmsew.html
http://www.cultmovies.info/

Then timothy please give us some examples of what you believe are cult films

david, some of these aren't weird. office space, slc punk, scarface, etc.

though most cult films are out of the ordinary, or else they wouldn't gain such strong followers. why would a normal film have a cult? though i do know what you are saying. just because a film is strange, it doesn't have to be a cult film.

Lets see:
TBL, Easy Rider, Fear and Loathing...
ACO(Best Kubrick Movie for me), Donnie Darko(Even though I did not like it one bit in first viewing)
Office Space (Now thats a good anti-coorporation movie)
Another one, Fight Club.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (c'mon, not when I am in college! And dont give me that "oh you dont understand this movie and thats why you dont find it funny" s*hit)
Freddy Got Fingered, heres something I can enjoy in college!

2-3 movies in one post ok that does it for this post

Harold and Maude

I agree with Rocky Horror (of course!), Dr. Strangelove and Monty Python and the Holy Grail... those are like a triumvirate of classic cult films... Much more recent movies with a developing cult following are Donnie Darko, Fight Club, to a lesser extent Office Space, anything Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill movies!) and I would include Robert Rodriguez's "Sin City," as someone else has mentioned. In ten years, I'm willing to bet there will still be a good number of diehard Sin City enthusiasts... I've never seen Boondock Saints but there are for some reason a crapload of Boon. fans that I've met since coming to college... and they are quite virulent about it.

Oh, and Timothy's Monster is a bit of a troll. Nobody pay attention to him.

yeah timothy's incorrect and being a dick.

RHPS is regarded as one of the biggest cult films of all times so... dunno what he's smoking.

add The Crow to your lists
