what do students usually seem like? do they seem happy? is there a lot going on? how does the sense of being in a student body compare to "ra ra" schools like Georgetown or Boston college or Duke?

CAS culture is probably similar to that of Duke but a bit more “East Coasty.” Wharton is entirely pre-professional.

It’s hard to say what the definitive culture at Penn is. I guess that’s because there are so many different cultures at Penn; you’ll have the “ra ra,” the serious, the pre-professional (as was mentioned earlier), the ambitious, the laid back etc.

That’s one of the things I love about Penn. Don’t ever worry about fitting into a certain culture because there are so many waiting to embrace you.

I’ll tell you this - I see more Stanford and Duke shirts on campus than any other college out there. I think that we’re definitely one of those “types” of schools, for better or for worse. Yale is a close third, though, and we definitely don’t have a Yale vibe.

Besides for the whole ivy thing obviously.
