I’m considering culver girls academy and just wanted to know some thoughts on it (good theatre and dance program, advanced and unique courses, etc.)
Hi! Last year, I was accepted into Culver Girls Academy’s freshman class. I am not attending due to lack of financial aid, but I think I can pitch in a little bit about it.
The theatre and dance programs are fantastic at Culver. There is a giant and beautiful auditorium in its own dedicated building. When I toured, the person showing me around told me about their current show- a revamped Hamilton. It sounded amazing.
As for courses, all of the courses are advanced and challenging being a boarding school. There is a large selection and- I don’t know if you’re interested in this, but there’s a super cool entrepreneurship program where eventually students run a coffee shop in the science/math building.
Culver in general is beautiful. It’s a college campus, basically, with huge brick buildings and just beauitful architecture. It’s right on Lake Maxinkuckee (really hope I spelled it right) which is downright stunning and provides lots of entertainment. The rest of Culver, IN has some cool spots but the town is kind of low income country, as is the rest of the area. I’m from a small town about 30 minutes south of Culver. On Saturdays (and Sundays?) you are allowed to venture into the town. It has an amazing root beer stand and pizza. I can’t confirm this if you’re allowed to go to other towns, but about 30min east of Culver is Warsaw which has some attractions, and like 20 min north is Plymouth, which is about the same.
Culver is a great school and while I’m a bit salty because they didn’t give me financial aid, I still love it, and I’m sure you will too!
