Which is more important? And do the schools you apply for calculate the transferable GPA for you (I opened my transcripts once and nowhere does it say transferable gpa)? I failed a couple of NONTRANSFERABLE classes =(

i’m a ccc transfer btw

I now this sounds a little silly for asking CalPolyEngineer…so basically they would HAVE to create a seperate GPA (transferable) for potential transfer students correct?

Oh BTW, I just wanted to say you’ve been EXTREMELY helpful around this board and it is much appreciated =)

Your transferable GPA differs from your cumulative GPA in the sense that it only accounts for TRANSFERABLE units.

For example, when you started taking classes at your community college you needed to take English 101 (4 units) but were required to take a non-transferable English 51 class (also 4 units) as a prerequisite. Cal Poly Pomona counts the grade you got in both English 51 and English 101 (8 units in total) as part of your CUMULATIVE GPA. However, when they calculate your TRANSFERABLE GPA, they would only count English 101 (4 units total).

Admissions office only considers transferable coursework (per example given, only English 101). That’s why is important to have completed “the golden four”
