Oh god I wonder when am i going to hear about any admission decision
@superblife are you an international student as well?
Yes. I am an international student as well as a transfer student.
@superblife oh ok good luck
maybe I applied as a freshman that’s why its taking so long
Hi all any idea how good kings borough community college is one of my friend got accepted
should he consider studying there
kingsborough is a good school. many alumni have transferred to schools like columbia or nyu. also, i’m not sure what the methodology is nor how relevant the ranking is, but the aspen institute named it one of the top 3 community colleges in the country out of a pool of over 1,000. plus, it has its own beach, if your friend is into that. the point is it’ll more than likely serve his transfer needs.
@Nujabes2 thank you
I just got off with admissions and they said a decision has been made but wouldn’t tell me any more. They verified my email and said look for an email by Friday! It’s so hard to wait! For those who called and they told you did you call the individual school? I’m so impatient. . I just really want to know. I applied Brooklyn, City, Queens, Hunter. . . Would it do me any good to call Brooklyn?
patience my friend. if it’s any consolation, and one of last year’s threads is any indication on when we should get our decisions, some of us won’t hear from our choices until late novemberish or even later than that! (even for community colleges, which is the path I’m going). so I think you’re in a good position and should just wait until friday as they say. I also suggest reading through the thread I mentioned for some psychological comfort:

as an update on my own application, I got an email just over an hour ago getting invited to attend an information session for laguardia’s asap program, but nothing that indicates an explicit, official acceptance yet. and so the wait goes on.
@hiker2013 I actually called Queens College and spoke with someone from the undergraduate admissions office. He was nice enough to tell me the decision. I told him that my cuny portal said that an admission decision was made and asked when I would receive anything, so he asked me for my SS#. After that all the info pulled up on his screen and he verified my name and told me I was admitted to Queens College. He also said that I would get an email from CUNY first and then from QC within the next few weeks. Try calling!
Does anyone got there decisions from Brooklyn, City Tech, York College, Lehman and HUnter I called at cuny and they said you will get in november don’t know maybe it’s because I am an international student or any other reason
I received an acceptance email from Baruch today. But still have not heard from Hunter or City.
congrats @superblife
okay so I’m not sure what the deal is with the acceptance letter, but I think I’m in laguardia now. in the past few days I’ve been getting a couple of emails from them, all of them about attending information sessions, and one was like “…now that you’re a laguardia student…” but no official acceptance (unless that was it and I’m just looking for something that isn’t there). my guess is by nov. 2x ish we will all receive our official decisions by email, just like last year, but it’s probably best (if you have not heard anything yet) to contact them by phone now. It’s likely decisions have been made, at least for community colleges, but they are still finishing some formalities.
good luck.
okay guys so i feel totally stupid, but the acceptance letter was in my spam folder L-) just as a heads up, you should check that as well so you don’t end up making the same mistake!
anyway that’ll probably be my last post on cc for a while, unless i want to post here for something else. good luck to everyone and god bless!
@hiker2013 got anything yet?
Anyone here who’s cuny portal says nothing but got an acceptance letter?
Still nothing from Hunter and City. If we don’t get acceptance letters from each university, do we still receive some notifications from them?
Well i called at cuny and they said that the letters will be issued in november and also the status of the portal can be changed or not but colleges will contact you through your email address… so now it’s all just a waiting game…
Well i hope it ends soon :s
I was told that a transfer student only receive one acceptance letter from one CUNY college. Does anyone receive 2 or more acceptance letters as a transfer student?
So I called Queens and they told me a decision wouldn’t be made until I took a math test. They said Id get an email. I explained I’d be taking my SATs again Nov 7. They said that great a decision wouldn’t be made until late November. Anyway, I got an email today saying I wasn’t admitted. So now I’m bummed. I thought my application would stay open st least until my new scores came in. :(. Not sure if I can do anything to save this.
