CUNY Acceptance? ( 2016 spring )

You may want to take CUNY Assessment test.(I am not sure if it works…, but this is my suggestion.) I took if before I applied my application so that they know my math and English are good enough. CUNY Assessment test normally needs after colleges accept us, but it’s better to take before to show your ability. Also, I think you can write a letter to admission offices to your colleges about requesting the re-consideration of your admission, which I heard from one of admission offices at one of CUNY universities. Sometime, although universities said you that you failed, you still get accept which happened to me. Originally, I was told that I failed Baruch when I contacted the administration office at Baruch, but CUNY Welcome center adviser said the decision had not made yet. One week later, I got a letter from Baruch that I was accepted. So, better to contact CUNY welcome center instead of contacting universities directly about your admission results.

So my math SAT score was 490 . . But the cutoff is 500 I think. Ugh. I really hope I can score above 500. I’ll call tomorrow and see if I can take the test and if they’ll keep my application open. I really hope so!!! I dont understand, I’m in college. I’ve been on the deans list since I started. passed the exams to get into Seattle, have a 3.9. Ugh (again). I’ll call tomorrow.

Did anyone meet the requirements to be proficient in reading, writing and mathematics, but were still denied from any of the 4-year colleges?

My portal says:
Your application is complete.
An admissions decision has been made by the college(s) listed on your application.
You will receive notification from only one college choice shortly.

Why do we only receive notification from only one school?

Hi Guys. I’m really confused.
I just got a email from CUNY telling me that the school I choose LaGuardia is unable to offer me admission at this moment but, they also offering the opportunity to choose another school from CUNY. I don’t understand why. I’m a transfer student with a 3.8 GPA. Does anybody heard about this before?

@Riri09 perhaps your cumulative GPA is low? apply to another CUNY!

Hi what was your grades at @superblife

@helpme97>>>>>Hi, I don’t know…I am an international transfer student, and I am not sure how CUNY calculated my grades from Japan. I will find out soon.

Last Friday, I actually received an acceptance Email from Hunter. I was told that being a transfer student, I should only receive one acceptance letter. However, I received acceptance emails/letters from three colleges/universities out of four. Hunter was my first choice, and I am accepted by the university I wanted to go, so I am very happy now.

I wish all the best for everybody. Since my application process had been done, this probably will be my last post.
Good Luck!!

Hello everyone, I am from Jamaica and I have applied to 6 CUNY colleges: Brooklyn, York, Medgar Evers, Kingsborough, Queensborough and BMCC. I haven’t received an admission decision from any of the them as yet. I am very worried :((

Is anyone else still awaiting his/her admission decision?

@Frasshead Hey, I’m from Antigua and I’m in the same boat as you, I applied to Queens, Brooklyn, Kingsborough, Lehman, City College and Laguardia. Still haven’t received any notifications as yet.

@Lovevendor Okay, so i am not alone. But i really want to get started on my Student visa

@sluffle Not sure. Because I’ve been in 2 colleges outside of the country as well and I don’t how they going to calculate all that. That’s exactly what I did. They gave me the chance to select two more choices for next semester. And I put BCC as my first choice and Hostos as my second. Let’s see. Praying for a positive outcome.

@ lovevendor am an international student from Nigeria…I apply at CUNY in August 11 I got an email from CUNY that …
The colleges have opted to review your application more closely. You can expect to receive your notifications in mid-December. Have a good day, and thank you for considering CUNY…

do you have idea of what it means…

@oreofeoluwa127 I’m not entirely sure, but I think it really depends on your grades and test scores. If your grades and scores are good then you mostly likely should be admitted. However, if your grades/scores are on the borderline then they might need to review your application more thoroughly before they make a decision. Also, you might want to contact each school that you applied to directly so that they can give you and idea of where you stand in terms of getting accepted. I hope this information helps. Good luck!

The automated system when calling CUNY says that I have been accepted and should be receiving a mail from QUEENS COLLEGE within two weeks; this was mid october and I still haven’t received anything. I called CUNY CENTER and they told me they would notify the college again. I am getting really worried since I still need to figure out why FAFSA has put a flag on me. I am also worried I might miss the orientation.

Anyone still out of the loop like me?

@lovevendor Have you received any admission decision as yet? On Monday I got 2 of my admission decisions. I got accepted to Brooklyn College and to Medgar Evers College.
I am still waiting for 4 more admission decisions.

@Frasshead Congrats on those acceptances, but I only received a decision from Brooklyn College.

@lovevendor Thanks. I got frustrated for waiting so I emailed all the schools last week. Queensborough told me that i got accepted and i should have received my acceptance email but the school said that l’ll get it this week. I am just happy that i got a few acceptances.

I advise you to email the other schools and keep your fingers cross

@lovevendor…do you have the number I can call CUNY directly…like I mean in terms of the automated system…or better still how I can I call CUNY apart from sending email to them

@lovevendor these are the colleges I applied to THE CITY COLLEGE
HUNTER COLLEGE
THE COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND
YORK COLLEGE
MEDGAR EVERS COLLEGE
BRONX COMMUNITY COLLEGE
