CUNY Acceptance Letter

Did anyone get an acceptance letter from any of the CUNY schools for fall 2010?

I applied before the deadline and I'm really worried. I have not heard anything from them.

Don’t worry, even if you aren’t a strong applicant, because CUNY seldom rejects people.

Thanks! I really hope I get in!

i talked to someone from CUNY and she told me that the acceptance letters will be mailed starting from April 1st. did anyone get the letter yet? please post here when you get the letter.

Hi FURFRANK,

Does this mean CUNY is not a reputed university?

CUNY Baruch has an admission rate of 24%, CUNY Queens 33%. Seems like they reject plenty of applicants.

Exactly, I was thinking the same thing that CUNY does have a rejection rate. Especially, Baruch is well recognized for its MBA and finance courses.

CUNY is not bad but it’s not good either. It’s the cheapest 4-year college in NY. What can you expect? I mean it’s not that hard to believe, just look for people that in past got into Hunter, City College and Queens. Although some of its colleges look selective, believe me, if you have an average SAT score, you are almost in. I saw many people rejected from CUNYs but they were just empty(low sat, low gpa)

Baruch and Hunter does have serious rejection rates. I know Baruch is quite selective, and don’t get upset if you get rejected, but, except Baruch, people with very low GPAs and SATs are the majority of CUNY’s applicant pool, so if you have a decent score, you’ll get in.

Also, they sometimes don’t admit you for the semester you applied. A friend of mine applied there for the spring 2010, but CUNY told her it’s only possible if she wants to start next semester which is fall 2010.

I am an out of state student and I recently (01/20/10 to be exact) applied to CUNY. My GPA is 3.1 and they have not responded. I am keen on continuing my education in John Jay and am anxious of their decision to accept me. I called them and they said to wait until the end of this week for an email that will tell me whether they have accepted me.

Did any of you guys get a reply already?

I applied and got into the Macaulay Honors Program at CUNY (CCNY campus) and I got my letter weeks ago.

bump**

did anyone get their letter yet?

A good buddy of mine applied to and got into CCNY. He knew weeks ago. He is going into the music department.

Is it too late to apply?? I just read on the CCNY website that the deadline for Fall is August 8th. But I saw on another site (I think the CUNY site) that it was February 1st. I’m confused. I decided that I’m moving to NYC, and I really want to go to City College for their Interdisciplinary Studies Program.

CCNY’s own website states that the application deadline for first-year and transfer students was Feb 1: [Freshman Students](http://www1.ccny.cuny.edu/prospective/admissions/ugrad/freshmen.cfm)

Non-degree-seeking students can apply until August though.

@ b@r!um, Yes… I see that. But, why does it say August 8th here?:

[Admissions Workshop](http://www1.ccny.cuny.edu/prospective/cwe2/admissions_workshop.cfm)

That’s the application deadline for the Center for Worker Education. It’s a satellite campus that offers evening and weekend classes for working adults. They offer exactly two undergraduate degree programs, Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences and Early Childhood Education.

when did you hear back from john jay? I also applied regular decision but way before the deadline and I haven’t heard back.

I have a 1790 sat score and 3.8 gpa … Will I get into hunter or Baruch … City? Waiting for my acceptance for spring 2015 … Got into Brooklyn and York!
