My son received the open house email yesterday. He applied as a new freshman (from Midwest). We emailed the admissions office at Baruch questioning if he had been accepted and received a reply immediately saying “All I can share with you is that your general freshman application is complete and under review…You should hopefully be receiving a notification from Baruch soon.” It was sent by David Keller, SR. Admissions Coordinator.
Hope this helps.
@rpv2015 the same person said something very similar to me a few weeks ago, saying my transfer app. Was complete and I’ll receive notification shorty.
I have to believe the open house email means something, it’s in May and by then everyone will have a decision. So why inform people who have been denied ? Just my guess you never know.
has anyone not gotten a response from brooklyn college?
@NaoNao18

where are you from?
I applied to Baruch as a transfer student and I did not get an open house email. The application status still says complete and under review. I think I’ll get denied - I have a low gpa from one of my previous colleges.
@jekcheat im from Africa
@rpv2015 Hey there,
I got the same email, and they said the same thing. I’m guessing that most os us on here are gonna get our decisions by mid april. Hope your son gets in btw. Good luck.
@jaycom18 Hey,
i also got an open house email saying I was invited. Btw what college are u transferring from?
Btw, guys I think its taking this long because even though some of us applied way back in decemeber or january, our transcripts and other stuff got sent in late or maybe they haven’t reviewed it yet. Maybe that’s why, what do you guys say??
Cross finger :)>-
Thanks @hamstargaming…same to you!
@hamstargaming, yes, I think it does have a lot to do with when the application was “completed” My son submitted his application on January 9, but waited until after 1st semester to have his transcripts sent, which was the last week in January. It took nearly 8 weeks for the portal to change to application complete. I have a feeling that having the application done on January 9 really didn’t mean anything without the transcripts. It’s getting really frustrating for him as it’s getting close to the May1st deadline that many schools have to make a commitment. (at least for housing). Although he still has a month, it just seems to be taking a really long time. Doesn’t seem like the most organized/efficient system.
@hamstargaming CSI, you ?
@rpv2015 same, I submitted my transcript almost a month after applying.
My bet would be us getting our decisions around mid April (CUNY spring break).
@jaycom18 I didn’t get any open house mail from Baruch, and if the open house mail means ‘acceptance’, then why the admission said that I am a very strong candidate for them?? They will not send it again to me because I went to tour before??
I have a very high GPA and took all pre-requisites for Zicklin.
@cashwizard11 I don’t know if it means anything I’m just guessing, if the hotline said Baruch for you I think your fine cause for everyone I know who applied as a transfer the school that the hotline said was the one who accepted them. Are you transferring from a CUNY ?
@jaycom18 No, I am transferring from Central New Jersey. I am an international student. I have been seeing admission director for two years to get in this school. Hopefully, the school sends emails to students.
@cashwizard11 the school told me we should know around the second week of April. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
